James Burton Most Popular TCB-member

September 09, 2003 | People
James Burton, Elvis's leadguitarist, is the most popular TCB Band-member. James got 42 percent of all 250 votes of the weekly poll, posted on the website of the Belgian fanclub Elvismatters. Good news for James, who's doing a live show in Belgium on October 11th. Rhythm guitarist John Wilkinson (21 percent) came in second.

Fred - John Wilkinson also never missed a single show from 1969 through to Elvis' death in 77.

Of course James is the most popular TCB band member. He was the only member that was never replaced during Elvis' live appearences. For Ronny Tutt there was Larry London, for Jerry Scheff there was Duke Bardwell, for Glenn D. Hardin, there was Tony Brown and for James? He was irreplaceble. Fortunate enough for Elvis he was never ill!

I agree that James Burton is the most popular with Ron Tutt second and Jerry Scheff, and Glenn D. Hardin and then John Wilkinson.

Totally agree that JB is the No. 1 TCB Band Member, followed closely by Ronnie Tutt - but to be fair they all deserve the No. 1 slot - they are such a close team and we would be poorer without any of them. Thanks guys for everything.

That is 100 percent correct.. Ronnie Tutt without a doubt is number two.. the whole rythem section would fall apart without his masterfull playing.. I heard some bootlegs when Ronnies stand in was filling in, and the timing was completely off, and the energy level was down..
