There is no connection other than having to pay for the books to be produced, something which costs a great deal of money for such high quality product with low print runs. People that complain about being ripped-off by the cover prices have no idea of the manufacturing costs involved.

The books appear to have the quality that is lacking in the cd releases. I see other artists labels like Hendrix & the Grateful Dead putting out high quality CDs aimed at the collector for a portion of what FTD charges. In a sense FTDs are a rip-off for what you get. No wonder sales are down. Maybe fans are finally wising up. And before you say I am shooting from the lip, see the latest issue of Man & His Music.
