Inside The Dream: The Jimmy Velvet Story

Jimmy Velvet is working on a new book to be titled "Inside The Dream: The Jimmy Velvet Story" due out in August 2007. As a performer in the 1950s, Jimmy toured with just about everyone in the Rock'n' Roll business including Elvis. And best of all he, always had his camera at hand to capture some fabulous candid moments in the history of popular music. The book will be about his life from the beginning and will feature the best of his 6000 unpublished negatives which document the Rock N' Roll Era. Jimmy will also include some wonderful stories about Elvis on the road, as well as his time spent relaxing at Graceland. It will be a large Coffee Table Book of the finest quality and will have hundreds of truly never seen photos - including some great candid Elvis shots & many, many others. Jimmy saidthat the hardest job was having to choose only one of every 15 photos in order to supply the 400-500 photos that will fit in the book.

Jimmy Velvet is a great guy and a true fan and friend of Elvis. Can't wait for his book. I hope he include all the rare photos he's taken with young Elvis and those with Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Connie Francis; Bill Haley; Alan Freed, Carl Perkins, and a hundred more...

I too got to meet Jimmy at the Elvis-O-Rama museum in Vegas last year, and he was so nice and informative. You could really tell he loved Elvis. My wife and I encouraged him to write a book and at that time he said there were so many out that he didn't think he could contribute anything new. I am so glad he reconsidered, baby.

In July, I was in Las Vegas and went to The Elvis-O-Rama museum. There was Jimmy Velvet with his souvenir booth. I spoke to Jimmy for about 1/2 hour and listened to his many stories and experiences he had with artists from the 50's. Jimmy also had many incredible never before seen pictures of him with: Elvis, Buddy Holley, and many other stars from that era. The stories and pictures were great. Can't wait for the book.
