The trouble with the price being right is that the owners often demand huge sums of money that are way out of line with what the footage or recordings are worth. With any price, there has to be a ceiling. Look at the "Little Mama" situation, the owners of the acetate want too much money, so we are denied it. As for the bootleggers, they cannot be compared with official product because their raw materials are stolen.

If the price is right, you can persuade anyone. Build it and they will come. Trouble is EPE, Sony, Warner etc are quite happy to rake in millions each year, but funnily enough none of them are actually that keen on spending any of it on projects like EOT. They all think they will make a loss on it. Sometimes you just have to do something because it's right, not just for profit. Anyway, if bootleggers can make a profit from the 300th release of 'That's Alright' and all those other sun releases, why can't they make a few bob from EOT?

There is one major stumbling block which stops FTD/Sony from putting together a special edition of "Elvis On Tour", they do not own the rights to or any of the actual footage from this film. As has been mentioned several times before, Turner Enterprises own these and were unwilling to allow Warners to use them on their recent DVD release. Never let the facts get in the way of a good old rant!
