Hard Rock Café In New York Raised Almost $2.5million

The Music Rising auction on April 21st at the Hard Rock Café in New York raised almost $2.5million. The Elvis items were sold for $11,670.00:

Elvis presley - Original September 1977 Concert Toicket $390.00
Elvis Presley - Signed Concert Scarf $3,600.00
Elvis Presley Negatives And Photographs $1,320.00

A concert played Gibson Guitar donated by U2’s The Edge raised $288,000.00, Bob Dylans concert used guitar raised $192,000.00 and a Jimi Hendrix’s studio used guitar raised a whopping $480,000.00. Although a limited number of tickets were available to the public, benefit tickets for the evening cost $1000. The grand total of the entire auction was $2,435,220.00

Music Rising (www.musicrising.org), a campaign co-founded by U2’s The Edge, producer Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz in 2005 to aid musicians of the Gulf Coast Region in regaining their livelihood after the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
