May 31, 2005 | Video
Radio DJ and Elvis confidant George Klein is working on an update of “Memories”, the video show he released 8 years ago. According to George Klein the DVD version of “Memories” will be out by spring of 2006. It contains some bonus footage, mainly interviews with people who knew Elvis personally.

Please improve the documentary. The pic quality was terrible. Give it more excitement. Plus a better dvd cover. Not the portrait cover painting which was terrible for the VHS.

I am sure the DVD will be better quality than the VHS tape released many years ago. The UK version was a poor NTSC/PAL transfer, with bad duplication quality. This tape was produced with pre-digital equipment, which gave very poor results on pre-recorded tapes. Compare any of the Paramount films when first released on VHS tape 25 years ago to the latest DVD versions. In theory, the new version of the "Memories" DVD should be in excellent quality as the problem would not have been with the original source tape, but how it was transferred. I look forward to this release, it was one of the better Elvis documentaries produced.

Kudos to G. Klein. I will be getting the Memories DVD as he is one of the few people around Elvis who doesn't sensationalise or make himself up to be closer than they were just to get the quick buck. His Friday radio show on Elvis Radio is excellent and informative and has superb guests on (James Brown talking about Elvis last week). Can't wait for his book to come out.

I have a copy of this great Video.Bought this in the early 1980s.have not seen it for a long while as I no longer have a VHS Video player. I'm glad that this will soon be out on DVD. I remember it features quite a lot of rare unrelease footages. There's even a color film of Elvis rockin on stage in Russwood Park in 1956?57? Great stuffs!
