You don't have to be an Elvis fan from 30 or 40 years ago to appreciate the people who were in his life that made him as successful as he was. You don't need to have been born when Elvis hit the big time. You simply need to be an Elvis fan who knows and understands there were people in his life who Elvis not only owed a great deal of his success to, but whom he loved and treasured as his friends. An Elvis fan is going to understand that if he were alive today, Elvis would be grief stricken about the passing of his friends. Have a little respect and say nothing at all if you don't have anything good to say. These were Elvis' friends. Their passing warrants mention on any Elvis site.

It is very sad when anyone dies, but we must understand everyone gets older as with the people that were a big part of Elivs's life they also age and yes death will come to them. We must be happy with the time we have them.

Thanks , I'll stick to Elvis . Can just about tolerate gospel when he does it, anyone else, forget it. Still don't get all this. I get lots of music mags relating to 50/60/70's stuff, reporting more and more people passing away. It's sad, it gets a mention and THAT'S IT!

I want to hear everything concerning Elvis, past or present. If you don't like death or sick notices about the people in the life of Elvis, I suggest you just scroll past and not click-on.

I've been a fan since '68. Like I said it's sad when anyone dies - for their immediate friends and family. But let's not wallow in it. I was/am an Elvis fan, when he died I was gutted like everyone else. But I'll admit I, and I imagine a lot of other fans are not THAT bothered when all these backing singers die/get ill - that's life. As for wanting to attend their funerals, come ON.

As TV companies say when accussed of focusing only on bad news, "there is no such thing as bad or good news, there is just news". I would rather have uncensored Elvis news, whatever the nature. Life isn't always upbeat. I suppose it depends on the age of the fan, people that were born after Elvis died will probably have no interest in Elvis' friends and colleages. Those of us that were fans thirty, forty or fifty years ago generally take an interest in these people because we were along for the ride.

Not sure I understand any of this.

You're right VivaDavies ! We're ALL "saved" brother, believe me. Despite our mourning, we believe in the man in the sky, "Elvis", dont' we. And our spirit will never be brought down by anyone. However, amazing thought of a reverend EP fan also I met recently: he said, awesome to see that Elvis was able to convince the Lord he needed a fantastic tenor singer that bad...Don't think twice, brother Davies, it's all right. But I think I speak for a lot of us: I'd love to be, present at the funeral. Shaun deserves that (that's someone you'll never forget, indeed). What denomination did Shaun adhere to? Also First Assembly or Methodist, Baptist or the Union Church ? Sincere condolences to his Family (fromp the heart) !

I'm sorry this guy has died but come on, he was a backing singer from over 30years go. These constant references to people ill and dying, please give it a rest. This is an Elvis fan site - lets keep it upbeat. I'm tired of reading updates on illness and death- enough already.
