After a couple of days away and reading the below, I gather it is possible that my remarks might have been read as a negative respons. Well, I meant it as a joke. I enjoy these cds a lot and I am happy that I own almost all of the FTD releases. I had to skip a few due to lack of money, but I appreciate all the work they are doing. I regularly view my old LP collection and the bootlegs amongst them; that's enough to make me happy with FTD. Of course these 'professionals' should not make such a silly mistakes. It may help to refresh the corrector department from time to time (SMILE)

If we're done complaining about typos in booklets and on cd labels, perhaps we can have a discussion about typos and grammar in the comments below.

Alanfalk, youe latest reaction was on the screen while I was typing mine for Bestof and Johnny. Just want you to know I'm completely with you. Always El.
benny scott (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 13, 2013report abuse
Bestof... and Johnny, of course you have the right to be not satisfied, no doubt about that, but to each his own. Personally I don't consider it as major errors, I see it more as minor ones. To be honest, as soon as the disc is in my player I couldn't care less if there are 2 number 5s on the sleeve, the booklet and the disc itself, I don't read while I'm listening to our man, the music is more important to me than a sleeve or booklet. Besides, I've been collecting records and audio bearers in all kind of forms and formats for over more than 50 years now, I can assure you that EVERY RECORDLABEL makes mistakes, no matter how long they are in business. Always El.

If it is that bad, please send me your copy (i will happily write you me address) . And no ones here knows how the error came about,it could have happened in a number of ways.I have an old Lucky Luke mag. where the misspelled the title on the cover, and in the big Danish encyclopedia there is about 35 corrections to each volume, both spelling mistakes and factual errors.People are not perfect, and I can tell from your comments that you are not either ! . And Benny is totally right, with all the releases we have from FTD the amount of errors is quite small. When I was younger I owned a gym for 6 years, and most people in my town said it was the best gym around, but three of the members always complained over this and that, and the "funny thing was, that when we tried to satisfy them by correcting whatever they found was wrong, they never mentioned it again, but instead they immediately found something else ! Soon of course we didn't pay any attention to these negative people because it was obvious that there was no way to please them. And yes you paid for them, but as far as I know, you have the right to get your money back if you are not pleased with the product. It is so damn easy to critizise what other people make, but people who does that time and time again, often haven't made ANYTHING wort bragging about themselves ! It reminds me of the people who critizice Elvis for not being the most innovative singer EVERY single year he was singing, or for not only singing Rock'n Roll and blues his entire life, these people can not believe that the entire world isn't revolving around them and them alone, everyone owes THEM something, but still they call OTHER people greedy . Is FTD a money making machine ? of course it is, it is a company who owns it, but that doesn't mean that people like Ernst and Roger doesn't care about making great products. Someone here needs to realize that FTD has to satisfy both the company and every fan, so that is why that most of the times they will release something that some of the fans disagree with, but imagine that every fan were calling them thieves, greedy or deaf every time they didn't get exactly what they wanted, there would be complaining every hour of the day, luckily most fans are reasonably enough to just not buy that particular release. Thank God for fans like Benny, Deano1, Natha etc. (sorry if I forgot some of you), who can critisize something in an objective matter (FTD or Elvis).

Quite correct Johnny2523, booklet and CD label all wrong. That's the problem if you C&P, one wrong all wrong. But just goes to show there was no effective proof reading, no quality control. We are talking about a professional company, not a two bit bootlegger who hardly speaks/ writes English. How to make a professional look amateurish! For $50 they could get a college student to do the proof reading. Would that have been such a prohibitive cost? I blame the album and art producers. Have a guess.

Benny Scott: ''All in all I don't think there's too much reason to complain, considering the number of CDs that have been released by Ernst & Co''. Yeah but that would mean they would have learned by now to Check everything before u release a CD. Now we do know the delay wasnt because of the error checking as the errors are still there.
Johnny2523 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 13, 2013report abuse
And the error doesnt only appear on the back cover.. The same error occurs on the CD LABEL and in the booklet! so thats 3 times a screw up..
benny scott (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 13, 2013report abuse
If FTD ever releases a DVD ( on condition the concert has been filmed) the sleave will be OK I'm sure ! Untill now we'll have to do with the CD, numbercorrection or not . Bestof... I know you meant 'CD' of course, just joking. FTD could reprint the sleave, they did it before with another of their releases (have to look up which one..) All in all I don't think there's too much reason to complain, considering the number of CDs that have been released by Ernst & Co. Always El.
Bestoftherest8301 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 13, 2013report abuse
...and it is not rude, stupid or immature to complain about a product that I have paid good money for that is defective! It is rude, stupid and immature however of FTD to stop communicating with the fans that pay their wages though. If they listened, maybe they would learn something. It is not unreasonable to expect, at the very least, and apology from FTD. Where can i get a proper sleeve for the HAN DVD with the number correction?
Bestoftherest8301 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 13, 2013report abuse
So you want positives?..OK, first, they managed to get an appropriate picture of Elvis on the front covers. Also, there were the correct number of discs in Sold out (2) and Hot night (1). They managed to print the label on the non playing surface of the CD's. On the playing surface all the tracks were Elvis singing (not half Elvis, half Tom Jones) and appeared to be the concert as depicted on the covers. The actual discs were CD's not DVD's.

I paid 40GBP for the two sets ($60approx) and I think I have the right to expect the product to be in perfect condition. The print and tracklisting are an integral part of the product, providing information on the disc content, which may be used as a basis for a whole range of reasons. Technically, it is a defective product that I (and everyone else) have paid for. All because someone doesn't care enough to do the job properly... and if anyone thinks different, then your expectations and standards are clearly the same standards that FTD work to and not mine.

I don't subcribe to the 'be happy for what you get' philosphy. I subscribe to the 'I expect to get what I pay for' philosophy'. ...and finally, remember the debacle of the 'So High' CD and they had to issue replacement CD's, is there any difference in the principle here? ...and really finally, FTD exist because it's a cash cow, not because they feel they have a moral obligation to the fans. You may not believe it, but I do appreciate what I have had from FTD over the years, but there is no excuse for sloppy, avoidable mistakes.
Deano1 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Didn't RCA press several 45's of "He Touched Me" / "Bosom Of Abraham" where one side played at 33 1/3 speed? I have a friend at work that had an LP of Three Dog Night and one side was the correct LP and the other side was a side of a "Rolling Stones" LP. Both of these mistakes are worth quite a bit today as are mistakes made with currency, stamps and thousands of records and covers. So a mistake was made on a track listing, maybe FTD will correct it and your mistake copies will be worth a lot of money some day.

There are worse things in life than an error in the figures of a tracklist ! To some members of this site it seems as if it is almost the end of the world. C'mon , enjoy the unreleased stuff and stop complaining about everything that is FTD !
Apparently in the eyes of some 'fans' FTD can do no good and will never do. I'm thankful for all our man's music they released so far. In the past 14 years we have been spoiled with recordings that were not supposed to ever see the light of day! So, as far as I'm concerned : a big, big "Thank You" FTD ! Just my opinion. Always El.
alanfalk (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Give it up LarsG, there are a couple of fans on this site who's only enjoyment in life, it seems, is to find something to complain over. No wonder that FTD stopped communicating with fans, because most of what they got was a lot of BS, as you can see for yourself on this site. This time they give us two unreleased concerts and one great concert in stereo, both in a 7" and both with a booklet, and what do some people do? By God, they complain over a number mistake, that is both rude, stupid and NOT-mature. Funny enough the same people who complain have said several times that they have stopped buying the FTDs and are selling the ones that they have bought, but they still use their time to find something to complain over. When the great 3000 South Paradise Road came out, which had an unreleased rehearsal on it and a great concert plus it came in a 7" and had a booklet, guess what, instead of being happy, someone complained over that there were Black and white pictures in the booklet !!
Biffx (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Hi can anyone offer anything constructive in regards to the quality of the disks , is the sound good or do the concerts live up to the hype. I do not have them yet but i will soon and cant wait.
mature_elvis_fan75 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Since they been at it so long, they should know better than to make the same mistakes over and over,if they offer them for free then im sure people would be more willing to overlook there silly mistakes! Every elvis fan doesnt think that ftd releases are the only thing they have to live for like some fans seem to think.
LarsG (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
The tracklisting is wrong! So what? Ernst and Roger have since 1999 released nearly hundred of CDs, Vinyl and books for the fans to enjoy. They have done and are still doing a tremendous job. And you complain about a minor error! Come to your senses, please. Keep ´em coming Ernst and Roger!
mature_elvis_fan75 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
bad communcation.
mature_elvis_fan75 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Theres a rumor going around that for extra $10 they will have someone who can count to 30(impressive isnt it)make sure there are no errors, but im sure they would manage to make some errors somewere else. Sorry i find the label to be kinda poorly ran, back communication with the fans, i mean you get more info on bootleg releases, and then there the sound, and other errors, you think they would care more about the product they put out!
Natha (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 12, 2013report abuse
Got mine too, today. Well, what's new, Bestof. Maybe they should make a quiz out of it and the first let's say 10 people who find errors should receive the next release for free. Maybe that will make them sharper. No, let's say 100. The delay was obviously not due to finding errors. Well, I'm off now, going to listen for the rest of the day and enjoy ELVIS and forget about the FTD bunch. 'Cause that's what it's all about (smile).
Bestoftherest8301 (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 11, 2013report abuse
Got mine, and well, can you believe it, they got the track listing wrong on Hot August Night, two track number 5's, beggars belief they can't get the basics right.
Natha (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 5, 2013report abuse
My world is coming to an end with this delay. After waiting for decades this delay is killing me. (smile). We live in a world of instant coffee, tea and so forth. We had to wait more than 3 decades, so what's in a few days.
Tony C (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 5, 2013report abuse
Fiasco? These will be out a couple of weeks later than originally planned, that's all that has happened.

benny scott (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 4, 2013report abuse
I have no problem at all with the fact I'll have to wait a few days more. The waiting will be worthwhile I'm sure ! Always El.
alanfalk (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 4, 2013report abuse
Everything these days are delayed, so I just plan on getting them WHEN they are released, as long as my life don't depend on them I don't really care. Regarding the "Sold Out", that one looks really great, two unreleased concerts, one of them is even an opening show, both are from great tours, and we get a booklet and a package in 7", and to top it all of, they are prepared by the same guys that gave us "48 hours from Memphis" ! No wonder that non of the FTD complainers have commented on it yet, they can't find anything to criticize . And the 69 concert, well the only thing they can criticize there, is that we have many of those already, but that is no problem in my world, now we just have more to chose from, and for me it is worth buying, if just one song is better or different from the other songs from 69.
Mr Cool (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 4, 2013report abuse
Looking forward to both of them. Extra few days wait hardly counts as a 'fiasco' !!
JerryNodak (profilecontact) wrote on Jul 4, 2013report abuse
Flash! FTD delayed. Not the first time. Won't be the last. This latest fiasco doesn't affect me as I didn't order any of this batch.
