FTD April Release

No decision has been made yet on the next 2004 releases, except that the April 1st. release is going to be a “soundboard” recording from the 70’s. The FTD label are keeping an ear to the ground on which show to chose, but unfortunately most fans are now asking for shows from periods and tours where they don’t have any or very few shows (1970-73, July ’75).

I would like to know if there is any tape of Elvis doing Unchained Melody for the first time in Wichita Kansas December 27 1976.

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows. Ive heard there is a extra 15 mins of the footage where Elvis arrives on the helicopter. I have seen this footage before on the Japanese Version of the Aloha from Hawaii. It is very cool and should make the beginning of the dvd very nice. The question I want to know is are their different camera angles available or not. If you watch the This Is Elvis version of Big Hunk of Love and the version available on Dvd they are both completely different and I have never heard of any backstage footage of Elvis for the Aloha special just the footage the Japanese camera crew filmed prior to the special. They filmed Elvis dressing room and the backstage area. The 68 special has a ton of extra footage. I just hope they show most of it. They should add current news footage about the special back in '73. Does anyone know exactly what footage exist for the Aloha special?

I was thinking is the Elvis On Tour box set scheduled for 2004? I hope so. I know we just got the San Antonio show on Close Up but, I am anxiously awaiting the Greensboro and Hampton Roads shows in great sound. Are we still waiting for MGM/Warner to make up their minds about the DVD of On Tour? Is this what BMG is waiting for? What are the latest conversations with MGM saying if anything?

Hello, I really have enjoyed all the FTD releases so far. For the next soundboard I would like something from the July 1975 tour but I know BMG still don't have any tapes from that tour. Please Keep searching Ernst! Elvis was in great spirits during this tour!! What a voice! How about something else from 1972? Vegas or on the road?

I agree, anything from the final tour of '76 would be great, even releasing the Birmingham show that been bootlegged would be great as the sound on Burning In Birmingham is not that great.

Allright guys, keep the ears to the ground and hear my plea: Anything from the final December '76 tour. Dallas, Birmingham, it doesn't matter, as long as it's from that tour ;) Otherwise any 1973 Las Vegas show from the august/september season would be great also. Come to think of it: I'd even appreciate a show from the last Las Vegas season (december '76)...
