From Ireland To Graceland

October 14, 2004 | People
Sir James Galway and his wife, Lady Jeanne Galway, played flute with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra last weekend, but they also visited Graceland.

The acclaimed flutist said "I went to the home of a guy who changed pop music forever," said Sir James, who admitted he wasn't a big Elvis fan when he was younger. "I became an Elvis fan later on, but I was too busy back then practicing the flute, trying to take over the world myself."

Lady Jeanne was touched by the visit to the King's home. "I've just experienced standing in the room of one of the greatest musicians that ever lived and that worked so hard."
