Free Itinerary Elvis On Tour

June 13, 2010 | Video

Here’s an interesting extra gadget for the On Tour DVD and Blu Ray: ElvisMatters offers the first 500 fans who order an Blu Ray or DVD a free identical replica of the original 1972 Itinerary that was used by Elvis and his musicians. The 15 page itinerary shows rehearsal schedules, pick up times for the artists (musicians and Elvis’s entourage), the hotels they stayed in, ‘tour rules’ and much more. It is the first time that an actuale tour itinerary, complete with a detailed time schedule, names and locations is made available to the fans. Although the US version of  “On Tour” is Region 1 only – for the US market - ElvisMatters offers the On Tour DVD to European fans on Regio 2. Available August 3rd.

RandyCute: you already own 4 versions of this?? Do you realize this is about the On Tour DVD?? Not CD?? Do you realize this is the first time ever this is released on an official dvd...so that means you have it 4 times on bootleg...so that means your 'complaint' about 'milk cow' is not appropriate on this first DVD release...what a weird reaction...!!

The VHS versions I have of this are awful. I don't watch VHS anymore. I am really looking forward to this even though there are no extras. Having it on DVD/blu-ray is like having a new product. I don't feel like this is milking at all. Now FTD, well thats a different story.

Well, this release could be so much better because, there is SO MUCH hours on the shelf. Hopefully there will be a special edition in the future, till then we have this original version for the first time on a official DVD and Blu-Ray release. Hopefully the sound is much improved. I surely will by the DVD. What they did with the DVD That's the way it is wasn't right also, to bring out a special edion in the first place. They have also hours of material on that film and the Special edition just doesn't do justice. So, if they consider to bring out the extra material they should call it..., The Real special special edition. lol So they haven't have that problem with a special edition with On Tour. The only thing what fans can do is hope for after this release. Wouldn't it be wonderfull to have a box set with hours of material from On Tour and That's the way it is. By then i should have my Blu-Ray player but will there be any fans left ? So hurry up, 2012 is a nice date to do it. 40 years after On Tour The Special edition including That's the way it is. Let's say a 14 hours DVD and Blu-Ray box. ;-) Elvis made so much money for those compagnies, his fans deserves this.

I'll get around to buying this sooner or later. But it's nowhere near the top of my Elvis purchase list. First come the classic album releases which I'm several behind on.

ALL ELV1S FANS...At Amazon, you can SEE the PREVIEWS of the elvis on tour in blue ray quality.

Thanks for the heads-up Silbalkan on the previews! The quality looks great and I can't wait to watch it on my 58" TV with surround sound! This is a definite must buy for me as it chronicles one of my favorite tours. The Greensboro concert is amazing and I hope one day we will get the complete video of it. Hurry up August 3rd!

I don't think the US edition is region 1 I think they're all region 0, which is wordwide. So hopefully all releases are NTSC, which means Elvis at normal speed, and not a semitone faster like all PAL movies.

I have just watched the extracts on Amazon and I was very impressed. The colours look much more vibrant than the washed out versions we have seen over the years. The Hampton Roads (light blue suit) footage always suffered worse to my eyes, Elvis appeared to look very pale in this footage but that was possibly just bad mastering of the original film. I saw "Elvis On Tour" at the cinema in 1972 and the colour problem was there from the start, it was not due to fading over the years. The producers of the DVD have obviously worked on colour correction for this release. Regarding this not being a special edition with out-takes, this was explained months ago, as soon as the release was announced. The owners of the film could not broker a deal with the owners of the out-takes.

Very dissappointed indeed...for yeeeaaars not being able to see part (or most) of those 200 hrs MGM footage from 1972 Will I tell my grandson that when he'll be 30 Graceland will release it (in 2040) ... WarnerBros/MGM/Turner/EPE thinks well-ahead and has great things in store for future generations, you see. Shame on them ! Like FTD was created, so should they and bring us ASAP a superb re-make "just for fans" of those great moments of Elvis on stage during 72 ! Almost giving up all hope. Someone, tell me, please, it can be done (still in our life time).

I, too, watched the extracts on amazon.com. I was NOT impressed. I'll get around to buying this sooner or later. It is not near the top of my Elvis purchase list..
