Follow That Dream Updates

Ernst Jorgensen spent an hour answering various questions posed by Elvis' Insiders on the Graceland website. Here are the most interesting facts for the "Elvis Outsiders". The April FTD release will be called "Made In Memphis", the other release is "Something For Everybody". The label is working on "Clambake" and "Wild In The Country" for the soundtrack gatefold releases and a soundboard from Las Vegas from February 1974 in the concert series. On the SUN book/CD project Ernst said the SUN masters will sound as good as on "Elvis At Sun" and many of the other songs to be included will sound just as good thanks to Kevan Budd. They have an as yet unreleased concert from 1956 (he is looking for 1955 Hayride material). You can read a transcript from the interview in the article section (accessible through the portal).

Haven't heard the x-rated version of Hurt yet, I do know it can be downloaded off the internet. But releasing that version wouldn't be any different than what most of this crap in today's so called music has in it....don't you think.

It is true that Felton's wife burned the reel with the 'x' rated Hurt on it. I read that a safety tape copy was running during the '76 Graceland sessions as a back-up incase the other failed. If this is true, then there must be another reel in storage. I hope so.

According to Stein Erik Skar, the 10th Season in Vegas (26th January-9th February 1974) was very strong. Elvis was in good voice, he focused on the songs, and he kept the chatter down to a minimum. It's the season Elvis introduced "Help Me" "Spanish Eyes" and "Let Me Be There." It looks like we are going to be in for a treat on the next FTD concert release. Keep those soundboards coming!

I hope that they put the outtake of Moody Blue that Graceland played many years ago on their tours of the mansion. It was unbelievable. I think the Hurt on the Jungle Room Sessions is x rated enough. I have children and do not play it when they are around or I use my headphones and get the full effect on the way Elvis really felt.

The X rated Hurt can be canned, thier are kids that would like to here these Elvis releases also.
I have heard it and don't care to here it again. We can play better Elvis music that this.
Bring on the Memphis FTD can't wait.

Does anyone know when the Feb. 1974 sound board will be released?
Ciscoking (profilecontact) wrote on Feb 11, 2006report abuse
Made In Memphis...yes. The only thing these sessions have in common and the only reason to combine them on one disc.. I`d rather have 3 separate releases going chronologically through the sessions with unreleased material.... This one seems more like a "best of"... Anyway..I don´t complain..perhaps they are just running out of takes...who knows..Therefore it`s o.k. and no matter of contents..this one`s gonna be a winner..

Mommy's little baby loves Clambake, Clambake. Mommy's little baby loves Clambake, too. And Something For Everybody, also.

I did read sometime that the master of the x rated version of Hurt was distroyed by felton jarvis. If that's not true and that master should excist I don't think it will be on this FTD release because of the language Elvis used in that version. I hope they do though....

I wonder if they found the master of "Hurt" with the foul language? I just love the Jungle room stuff....

Tnny - The Ernst interview is on the same page as the article header. Just scroll down and you'll see it. Unfortunately, it doesn't reveal a great deal especially as it went on for an hour.

Errr...people do seem to forget that this is a free website that is damned good at what it does. Be thankful for what you get folks and stop moaning!

Well, that's the problem with Elvisnews these days. Just incomplete sloppy news, copied from other sites. No background info, no userfriendly links. I've searched the article too and gave up after 5 minutes. Setting a link would have taken 30 more seconds. Almost all news lack of infos on "how and where do I get it". Leaves you standing in the rain. Other site do have these infos. I always thought there would never be another start-page on my browser but Elvisnews. Now I'm shortly before changing.

Made In Memphis...sounds good to me. I have to say I am not waiting for "Something For Everybody", "Clambake" and "Wild In The Country". A soundboard from february 1974 in Vegas is not so interesting either I think, because Elvis was fed up with Vegas and he sounds often very bored in Vegas shows. "Made In Memphis" sounds very promising to me; I hope for new outtakes especially from his '76 session.

Ernst: "consists of outtakes from 1969, 1973, & 1976."

I wonder what the Made In Memphis CD will be about. Is it going to be a live concert from Memphis? Or a collection of studio songs from Sun American Stax studios and the Graceland sessions. Does anyone know?
