Would Love to see "Follow That Dream" on Blu-Ray. I will buy it ! I wonder why the movie is being released on a DVD label called "Twilight Time" and not by the original Film Company ?

Did they also release the wonderful epic Twilight Saga?..

In reply to George, it is just because the company in question have decided to license the film from it's owners. The film companies themselves have been very slow in bringing Elvis to Blu-ray, presumably because the format has not taken off as predicted. Hopefully a good restoration job has been done on the film, which has always been a favourite of mine.

Thanks Tony. I too hope its a great digital HD-Blu Ray Transfer, because its a favorite Elvis film of mine, also !

The film is now down on their list of forthcoming releases, but as of now you cannot pre-order it yet. This will be of course an American BluRay & there might be a chance we can't play it over here in Europe. I ordered "The Driver" from this firm & was very relieved to find it would play in the UK! But some US BluRay Films will not play here – for instance I have "The Third Man" as a rather expensive coaster!

There are only a handful of Elvis films I would gladly upgrade to Blu-ray. This is one of them, along with Loving You, King Creole, Flaming Star and TTWII (hopefully with tons of added footage). I already own Jailhouse Rock and Viva Las Vegas, both with superb picture and sound, and On Tour, which beside the alternate inferior opening, does not compare with the previous two quality wise. I just hope that FTD will be remastered to the highest quality possible and not just a hotch-potch transfer of the DVD, which unfortunately was not too good. As for those concerned about the Region Code, there are sites that can guide you as to which Region A films are actually Region Free and play perfectly in Europe. I have purchased tens of films on Blu-ray from the U.S. that work fine on my Region B Blu-ray player.

People were disappointed with the quality of the "Elvis On Tour" Blu-ray release, but their expectations were unreasonable. "Jailhouse Rock" and "Viva Las Vegas" were filmed on 35mm with optimum lighting, but "Elvis On Tour" was filmed on 16mm film and blown up to 35mm, using very low lighting levels. This brings a grainy quality to the picture which cannot be changed, whether scanned at SD or HD. That is how the film was made, the reasons being that the huge cameras and bright lighting used when filming "That's The Way It Is" were vetoed be Elvis' management. It was felt that they interfered with the actual concerts. As for the opening song, we all know that Chuck Berry would not grant permission for "Johnny B. Goode" to be used, so the choices were to substitute the song or not release the film at all.

Yeah would love to have this on Blu-Ray, but at £79.95p on Amazon, I don't like the movie that much. Also I hear it's Region A, like the "Love Me Tender" Blu-Ray which can't be played in Europe, only the mighty U.S. of A. It's about time these companies pulled their finger out, & released all (if possible) of Elvis movies on Blu-Ray. I also think they should put "Love Me Tender" & "King Creole" as 2 versions on each disc, (1) The original Black & White movie in remastered BD form (Picture & Audio) & then a colorized version remastered in BD format. I liked the colorized Jailhouse Rock & since it was over 20 years ago since the official VHF came out (I have a bootleg version which isn't to bad) it's about time it was officially released on Blu-Ray, with better technology around nowadays I'm sure they could do a better job now than they did then. Oh Well! I can dream, but I won't hold my breath. They may be released in the future, but I don't think I'll see them in my lifetime, I'm 70. need I say more?
