Woody - right there with you on this one. It's amazing to think what a mess Elvis was in his last Vegas stint just a few weeks before those last shows of Dec. '76. I agree with you totally about this set - got one or order as well. If nothing else I'll be glad to have the Herman footage on a factory pressed DVD. Here's a thought - Just imagine if Pay Per View had existed or HBO to where this show could have been broadcast live back in the day.. I think Dick Clark's New Year's countdown might have lost in the ratings for that year. lol

Hi Wildfishie, if you have a look at the Moody Blue postings from the 01/11/2014 that's still on the home page you'll find a few postings involving the concerts. It was through those postings that I discovered that Orion was only a few rows in front of me at the Cincinnati concert and I think Lex was very lenient with us last time in letting us go off topic so much.

Coming back to this DVD ever since I saw my first VHS video of this concert I've always thought that Elvis's legacy of the later years may have been so different if only CBS had been there 6 months earlier to record this show, I can only imagine how good that would have been!

Woody1, could tell us a little bit more of the experience to see Elvis in Indianapolis?

Having been lucky enough to have seen Elvis live in his last two concerts and this being one of the most memorable things I've experienced in my 55years (wow that sounds old) but upon reflection having had a copy of the old VHS of this show for many years I believe that this recording is the last one to show the Elvis that I had put on pedestal all those years ago, IE appearing to be totally in control, having a great time with the audience, looking in fine health and singing like no one else could ever do.
I've now placed my order for a copy and I'm hoping that it will live up to the billing, fingers crossed. I'll let you know

Valid points guys but I am hopeful that I will still end up with the DVD, if it lives up to its billing, which is my main interest

Quite right, VivaLasDavies. That's always the difference with FTD. Here you have hardly any time. So the other day I ordered my copy.

By the time you receive feedback they'll very likely already be sold out.

I like what I read here and depending on the feedback will definitely buy it for the DVD alone assuming there will be a minimum use of the 'matchstick hazy elvis' film sequences which greatly detract from previous releases in my opinion.

I have to give it a second or third thought before buying it. It's too expensive as I am basically niot interested in the book that accompanies the cd and dvd.
