Fame On Me

March 07, 2005 | Book
Elvis' former girlfriend (and wife of James Caan) Sheila Ryan is writing a book entitled "Fame On Me" which will include many stories of her time with Elvis.

Currently she is selling a prescription bottle of medication on the auction site, ebay. The bottle of DAPRISAL was prescribed by Dr George Nichopoulos and dated May 17th 1975. The bottle of pills was given to Sheila by Elvis in Graceland to hold for him.

She waited a long time! I guess the pills ran out of date and were no longer usefull to her! And she can write too? Fantastic!! Did she need the time to learn to read and write till now?Another one on the list who knew Elvis and write their own truth!I may sound sceptic ,but after all those years how accurate can one still be ,and is there really someone who likes to know? Just my opinion!

I bet many will buy it. The book, not the pills that is. Well, it might be interesting, but as any book you should take it with a grain of salt.

I personally want no part of her, her bottle of pills or her book. What some people will do for a dollar. Isn't it illegal to sell prescription drugs on the internet? I sure hope they hang her A**. I get so P****D of when these idiots try to use Elvis this way.

Its funny because as I am writing this down I have got Elvis on singing Suspicious minds. I dont think I will bother with this book. I expect it will sell well though. I dont think they should be selling pills on the ebay.

C'mon everybody, from what I've seen of her, Sheila was a very down to earth lady and if she tells a few stories of Elvis in her upcoming book, she just brings out what she lived through with him. I personally LOVE Elvis but I don't mind if a girl like her comes up with her own side of the story, weather good or bad. Cause may I say that she will most likely have MANY positive things to say about her affair with E also. Please cool down everone...

I've been told she is a nice lady. So, maybe (I say maybe) she'll write some interesting facts about the 70s years. Anyway, I'm not that much interested in Elvis books by now. I have dozen of books, and I bought them all few years ago. Well, her book can't be worst than the ones written by Elvis so-called friends. At least, she wasn't in the inner circle, so what she has to tell (providing she has something to tell) may be more interesting than the usual "revelations".

This one don't interest me. I've stopped collecting BOOKs. Most are craps like Elvis We Love You Tender, Elvis And Me, Elvis What Happened, ELVIS Albert Goldman and so on. Now I only buy the good Picture Books like Elvis in Texas, those superb JOE TUNZI books and Ernst Jorgensen's Day by Day and the wonderful FTD BOOKs with CDs.

Here's another one from the wood work to cash in using Elvis' name every step of the way. Every time Elvis' image is on it's way to being restored from ridicule and jokes, someone like this from Elvis' past prints their stories. Next thing you know, there comes more exploitation of prescription drug abuse and Elvis' shortcommings. I really don't think she is a possitive source for reminiscing. The book should be called "SHAME ON ME".

Sheila Ryan... Man! She was so sexy... A real turn-on and an unstoppable hurricane in a way... Hard to forget her! And it looks like she always loved confidence... I'll have a look at the pictures :-)

Just spoke with Sheila about a possible interview in Essential Elvis magazine. Guess what? She wants $25.00 per half hour to talk to me. Phew!

Obviously some pills will never go past their sell by date.

If the pills were bought by someone in Denmark, they may get into the wrong Hans.

I stopped buying these trashy biographies long ago.Elvis befriended these people and in many cases, gave them hand outs. Now some are still trying to live off his back.

Andrew I did many (I mean many :-) interviews with all kind of people including big names like James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Johnny Cash, Celine Dion and many others and the rule has always been the same : if they're promoting something (an album, book, DVD, perfume, whatever) they don't get paid to do an interview but if they're not promoting then they get paid and they fix the price... I know only a few exceptions in the world (Michael Jackson and Madonna for sure and maybe Bruce Springsteen I don't know). The point is : is Sheila promoting her new book or not? Now let me add this : I would sure pay a hundred bucks to do an hour interview with Sheila... Get me in touch with her I'll do the job and forward it to you and Essential Elvis fans! On another hand I talked to many musicians and friends who shared a lot with Elvis (DJ Fontana, JD Sumner, Charlie Hodge...) and they never asked for anything...
