European Charts

November 18, 2003 | Music
Elvis is dropping in the European charts. In the UK "Rubberneckin'" dropped from the charts, "2nd To None" dropped 9 places to #59. In Ireland "ELV1S 30 #1 Hits" is at #73, "2nd To None" is listed a few spots higher at #69. Better news is that "That's The Way It Is SE" is at #10 in DVD charts.

In Norway the "2nd To None" compilation dropped from the charts too, and "Rubberneckin'" dropped 20 places to #28 on the Hit 40 radio chart. In Denmark Elvis dropped out of all the charts, the TCB Band and Sweet Inspiration's cooperation with Big Fat Snake is still going strong, the CD/DVD climbed from #8 to #6. Bad news from the German Long Play Charts too this week: "2nd To None" dropped out of the Top 100.

In the Netherlands the single dropped from the charts. The "2nd To None" compilation dropped 20 places to #51.

I read an article last week to say, 2nd To None hadn't even reached the 1million mark. BMG forecasted sales of 4.5million half of Elvis Number 1s. It's only down to the abysmal marketing campaign, what a shame, it's a great cd. BMG have lost a lot of ground this year.

Let´s see, almost always Elvis best news come from Europe.I hope Elvis had accepeted European concerts in the 70´s, when all people there were so eager to see the King, much more than in the US(as you can check, most of best Elvis record-selling and chart hits in the 70´s were in Europe)

So what? He is in the charts and that's what counts, doesn't it? After being dead for 26 years, this still is a great accomplishment. Please don't forget that!

Anybody know the worldwide sale-figures for 2nd to none? I remember BMG stating some goals when the campaign started, just wanted so see how it actually did. What about other Elvis albums - any web site where one can check sales?
