EPE Goofs Up

August 27, 2007 | Other
Approved by EPE is the "'68 Comeback" McFarlane toy statue. The package lists twice that Elvis was born January 8, 1938 ... (which should be 1/8/1935).

Since last week, you can see the interview with Lisa-Marie on ABCs Good Morning America. When they enter the Graceland Archives, they discover a scarf that Elvis dedicated to Lisa-Marie. She is very surprised to see the item as she has never seen this before and she wants to keep it. A moving and funny moment at the same time. But... did she never saw, read, own or approved the book "Elvis By The Presleys"? The same item is there at page 173 ...

EPE approved the statue. In other words they approved the use of Elvis' likeness. Who knows if they ever saw the printed material? Even if they did it may have been fine then. Why do you assume EPE made the error? Ever heard of printing errors? They happen all the time. I know it's fashionable to blame EPE for everythig, but c'mon. Everything "bad" that happens isn't their fault. In fact, isn't even within their control.

whether she's been acting or not, just let her have the scarf- it was meant for her.. "Let the one without goofing up cast the first stone."

EPE approved too many weird things in the last few years or so...I still haven't gotten over the pathetic choice of Mister Meyers as Elvis for the mini-series (I still have nightmares about it to this day)...and now this obvious lack of attention about Elvis's birthday....Geez, give us a break !...Lisa, are you sure you sold your dad's legacy to the right persons ?..Anyways !

I wasn't at all surprised that Lisa never saw the scarf. After seeing the movie, as overwrought as she became at times discussing her father, she may have chosen not to proof the book. I was surprised that she asked if she could have it, aren't all of Elvis' belongings her belongings? Or was that her southern upbringing coming thru?
