"Beware" people in Europe...don`t pull a penny out of your pocket for that...this production disapointed me so much !...The guy they took to play Elvis was pathetic...the last scene of "If I can dream" was such an embarrasment...whatever !

You guys shouldnt buy this for another reason.Jonathan Rhys- Meyers, after winning his Golden Globe that he didnt deserve, well he has been going around bashing Elvis caling him one of the biggest homosexuals that he has ever known about. He has been talking very badly about the king.I think something should be done to get his Golden globe taken away. What a scumbag he is!

Errr. That isn't what he said. He was referring to the fact that Elvis' outfits could be referred to as "gay" or, perhaps, camp is a better word. Hardly the same thing!

Well,It's nice for you to try to defend him but... Here's part of the article. It came from his mouth; "JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS is convinced ELVIS PRESLEY was homosexual - as he is suspicious of his glitzy wardrobe and maternal attachment. The Irish actor, who played the title role in 2005 TV film ELVIS, has branded the HEARTBREAK HOTEL rocker "the gayest f**king thing on two legs" after time spent researching the star yielded truly camp results. He says, "Anyone who lives with their mama that long and dresses up in that much spangly gold with black lacquer on their eyes has definitely got something going on."

i will not be buying it either who does he think he is he should have not been given that roll he was rubbish i agree with my boy he was a embarrasment to the king name

THX for siding with me Ryanking. And besides, regardless of what that "so-called" actor said about Elvis being gay, I can not figure out how come EPE and the producers agreed to hire that guy to play Elvis in the first place. After all the publicity they made to promote the show before it aired and the fact that they passed many candidates in audition, it`s ashamed that they ended up with a pick like this. I`m sure many of the funny impersonators we`ve seen over the years would have done a better job...to say the least...and at a lower cost...Anyways !

EPE was not involved with the casting of this mini series.

I thought picking Meyer's was a bad choice from the start. His "acting" was awful. I did try watching the first part of this "film" but I couldn't stomach it because of the terrible acting. I've never understood the "Powers tht be's" logic when it comes to Elvis. Even when Elvis was here, the Powers that be bumbled around and gave Elvis thrown together movie scripts in the 1960's & forgetting one thing, Quality. Here we are in the 21st Century and the Powers that be are still bumbling around with Elvis when it comes to movies. I know,....I know, it was Sweeps Month and they needed something to bring in ratings regardless of quality. So they use Elvis because he'll bring in ratings but still forgetting one thing, QUALITY. I wished they had never made this movie. I wouldn't even want this movie if it was free. Pure garbage. Again profit over quality.

Mr. Meyers can't act the part of Mr. Meyers let alone act the part of one Elvis Presley..I'd also like to take that Golden Globe and shove it up his a**

Regarding Mr. Meyers, this all reminds me of the saying It isn't what you know it who you know. Insofar as his acting isn't acting at all (merely attitude) I must wonder "who" he knows?

This is without doubt the WORST "Elvis" TV Movie of all time. Short guy Jonathan R Meyers' potrayal of 6ft 2in Elvis is terrible. His acting is absolutely lousy. How on earth did he won an award for his hopeless acting only God knows. And it's so sad that he can't even mime properly to the Elvis songs, even though he had the advantages over all previous "Elvises" as he had the chance to mime to the original RCA Elvis songs. His dancing and Elvis movement are also an embarrasement. I'll strongly recomand that you give this DVD a miss. Don't bother with this piece of shit. Don't waste your time. Save your hard earn money for the next EPE/BMG DVD - Elvis The Concert.

Elvis was actually 5 ft 11 and a half.....maybe 6' 2'' using the lifts in his shoes he often did!

Not only was JRM acting terrible, the script writers didnt have a clue about Elvis's life. There was so many mistakes, it became embarrassing to watch.Elvis wearing blue suede shoes while performing in the gold lame suit?? yeah right. This mini-series was the ultimate insult to Elvis.

Hi, Maybe Meyers should ask all of Elvis's leading ladies how GAY Elvis was. He even hit on "sweet little" Mary Tyler Moore. Ain't NO WAY!!

Elvis' exact height, as measured in 1958 was 5'11 3/4. Th US Army rounded up to 6ft. His height measured by Nudie in Hollywood was 5' 11 3/4. During the wardrobe fittings for Kissin Cousins Elvis was measured at 6ft. Elvis' height in 1971 was measured at 6ft by the Denver Police Dept. His ID for that badge was listed at 6'2.
