OFFICIAL FROM GRACELAND
RCA/BMG, our company (Graceland) and all involved have had hopes of recording the January 8 presentation of Elvis-The Concert. Efforts have been quietly underway to make this happen and, as is often the case these days, word leaked and there was a buzz on the Internet about it and we've been getting lots of emails.
There's a lot to work out to make a recording happen - negotiation with the cast is only part of it. It looks as though time is running out for making it possible for January 8. Also, since the Jan. 8 show is one show only and not part of a multi-show engagement or a tour, it means that there would be only one shot at getting the recording right and that is a concern. We now look toward possibly doing the recording during the European tour. The 2-show Wembley engagement is being considered.
I hesitate to risk creating another buzz/rumour by telling you that, but I know word will get out anyway. If ever we have a recording set up and confirmed, we will post information on our web site immediately. We all want it to happen. We want everyone to know about it if it happens. If the info is not posted on our site, it means that there's not a confirmation yet.
Hopefully, most people will continue to check our site and not bombard us with emails about any speculations, rumours, etc. they hear. (Please respect EPE is very busy and not email them about this - they will let us know when there is more news.)
Lisa is not performing at our January 8 show. Naturally, we all hope she can attend, but her schedule at that time is uncertain at this point. If she is able to be there, we probably won't know until closer to show date, and we doubt her attendance would be publicised in advance.
