Elvis Takes 6th Place In Dutch Top 1000

The popular Dutch Radio station Radio 5 Nostalgia has put together the Top 1000 of most requested and most popular oldies. Elvis takes 5th place with "Are You Lonesome To-night". In 2008, the same song made it to number 1. The Top 1000 airs later this month, starton on Nov. 5th. Here's the top-10 for 2010:

2. Wim Sonneveld - Het dorp (1966)
3. Anneke Grönloh Brandend Zand (1962)
4. Adamo - Vous permettez monsieur (1964)
5. Blue Diamonds - Ramona (1960)
6. Elvis Presley - Are you lonesome tonight? (1960)

9. Fats Domino - Blueberry hill (1957)

Half are just Dutch songs that most of us don't know. No surprises there, after all it's a list with the most popular oldies in Holland! 'Are you lonesome tonight?' is second only to 'Yesterday' if we look at the international hits...
