Elvis & Priscilla: The Wedding Calendar Available This Fall

August 24, 2011 | Other

A keepsake item for Elvis fans and collectors alike! To celebrate the 45th wedding anniversary between the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley Enterprises will soon release “Elvis & Priscilla: The Wedding,” a 16-month calendar for 2012. Priscilla hand-picked this unique collection of wedding photos and provided all of the personal commentary to describe what was happening in each image.

Elvis and Priscilla were married on May 1, 1967 in a private ceremony at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. "One thing I loved throughout the years was Elvis’ silent gestures" writes Priscilla. "He had a manly image to maintain, but his assuring subtle squeeze of the hand, the strength of his touch, and the occasional wink would send me an unspoken message.”

The TODAY Show recently listed Elvis and Priscilla as having one of the greatest celebrity wedding kisses ever!

will it also feature their divorce?..

I think that this is a good idea, having calendars themed towards certain subjects rather than just random pictures. Maybe an "Aloha" calendar in 2013, etc.

Theme calendars are nothing new. Alfred W puts out a 1956 calendar every year to keep milking the fans on his photos.

Elvis and Priscilla's wedding ceremony was not filmed completely, the only film that does exist are the colour home movie segments that we saw in "This Is Elvis" and the B/W newsreel footage of the press conference afterwards. All of the footage is silent and even if Joe Esposito's footage of the subsequent wedding party were added, the total running time would only be a few minutes.

Hmm have to say this looks nice just hope the images are different to those we have see so many times before! BUT I'm thinking, as so many others will be too how can you celebrate a 45th wedding anniversary to someone you divorced almost 38yrs ago?

Right on brigit! 45th anniversary indeed! I think I can save my money for some more of those expensive FTD releases, I mean they only try and release about EIGHT per year at $30.00 a pop no less!

Did Mike Stone not have a hand in choosing the photos? He apparently had his hand in everywhere else.
