my first reaction: burning love a number 1? It's more of the same. how long will this go on. this repackinging of the same songs time after time. what's next all the EP's on cd in a box. I'm glad there is a FTD label so we (the fans) can enjoy something "new" from our hero.

Basically this is their version of our 18 number ones boxset, so why shouldn't they have their own version? It looks like there is one more song added, making it 19 number ones, or whatever. I look forward to trying to buy it here!!

Great news again. This will be a very tasty box set indeed. Hope it get sreleased here in Europe.

Its nice, will compliment our box set nicely. BUT is it going to be in the same format with the brilliant glossy cover pics and the cds ersembling records, i will have nothing less now.

I think its a great idea releasing the US no 1s. Will the cds have the same design as in the UK ? Its ashame Burning Love did not get to no 1 in the uk
joemin wrote on February 23, 2005
If these are released the same as the UK #1s, one at a time, with say 50,000 cd singles each, then burning Love, Heartbreak Hotel would bith make #1. Also In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds.

I know this applies to the UK releases too, but why would anyone in their right mind want to buy A Little Less Conversation remix again? It's not even 3 years since it was out. Stupid if you ask me.

bennie: Burning Love a number 1? Yes. On the Cashbox chart. The UK had their number 1 box. Why shouldn't the U.S. have theirs?

BTW bennie: I think all the EPs on cd in a box is a great idea!! I would definitely buy it.

The US No.1s were much stronger than their UK equivalents. Does anyone disagree? Perhaps it would be wise not to release all these on consecutive weeks; it'll take the rest of the year to get over the current campaign as it is. I've booked a holiday after ALLC for that very purpose. However, particular singles could be put out individually to continue this run. I'd vote for Don't Be Cruel / Hound Dog as a European release...it might be the Xmas No.1! I also think that an EP box would be a great idea, putting a new slant on familiar and even less familiar material.

Ok so we have had our share of hit compilations on both sides of the water. But there is always someone who has never heard The Kings music. And a greatest hits package is a great introduction.

And where is RUBBERNECKING remix 2003?? It was #1 in the USA.
Tina S wrote on February 23, 2005
Thats alright was no1 in the U S last year

This is starting to get bad and making the universal term of a #1 hit worthless. The regular person has no idea what is and is not a #1 anymore because of the different measuring sticks. For years, everyone knew that Elvis had 18 US #1 hits based on the Billboard chart. Then for 30 #1 Hits BMG also used the Cashbox chart to get other great songs in there to make a stronger album. Now it looks like they are going to include "A Little Less Conversation" as a #1 hit...this was a #1 on the sales chart, but not the main Top 100 Billboard chart - because of course, unlike in the UK, the US singles chart's rankings are based some on sales and a lot on airplay. If the sales chart (what I wish was the "real" chart in the US) is going to be used then Rubberneckin' and That's All Right also went to #1. If BMG wants to use the universally recognized chart though the last single in the box will be Suspicious Minds...sorry, Burning Love is my favorite Elvis song, but it is a #2 hit, not #1.

When will they release this #1 box ? I will surely buy it. TCB.
sdeahkcid wrote on February 24, 2005
why just the number ones everytime??, Why not the Elis the singles !? I Would love all the singles released in the same format as the present UK singles . Could you imagine "One Broken Heart For Sale", "Dont Cry Daddy", "Raised on Rock", Kissen Couisns" etc all with the picture covers and simulated 45 single design. yeah keep releasing Elvis singles one every week from now until eternity, lol.
Tina S wrote on February 24, 2005
it will keep going as long as fools like us keep buying them

When will we know if this set is to be released over in the UK, Im not sure what im going to do each monday when this campaign ends so if this US set is to be released it will give me something to look forward too, cause id rather be outside Woolies at 8am on a freezing cold morning than be tucked up in bed. No serious id love this set to come out here just to give ELVIS more top ten hits

Sorry folks but I don't like the idea of releasing these singles at all. Good songs as they may be, these are the same tunes Joe Public has heard a million times. I think it's time they release some more obscure songs never before released as singles, mostly from the 1969 Memphis sessions. Songs like Wearin' That Loved On Look, Power Of My Love, Stranger in My Own Home Town, And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind etc etc. In my opinion if we do what we did (and are still doing) to the 18 #1's and get these "new" songs in the top 5 it will benefit Elvis' popularity immensely. What do other fans think?
sdeahkcid wrote on February 25, 2005
EJF i totally agree with you, but in clude the 67 - 68 stuff such as "Clean up your own backyard" and y"ou dont know" me , oh and "Edge of reality".
sdeahkcid wrote on February 25, 2005
EFJ and they should be done in the same design as these present singles, pic cover and black 45 replicas.
pacer1965 wrote on February 25, 2005
It says this is going to be released as a box set.So I dont think they will be releasing one single every week like here in the uk.
RonBaker wrote on February 26, 2005
What I'd really like is a boxed set ON VINYL of the original ep's in original covers with original labels. I was a young kid back in those days...now I'm 52 and I sure would love to have ALL of them instead of the few I do have.
