Elvis' Plaque Of The Duck Walk Of Fame

August 24, 2007 | Other
Only after the short induction ceremony of Elvis to the Peabody Duck Walk of Fame, workers unveiled the plaque Elvis got. Most Memphis-visitors had already left the city by then, but here's the first picture. Priscilla Presley accepted the award on Elvis's behalf.

The Elvis Duck footsteps are now part of the 'city walks' around the world famous Peabody on Union Avenue.

where can I find them, next to Donald Duck?

I was there as the plaque was being installed in the sidewalk, the day after the indoor induction ceremony. It's placed next to Bernard Lansky's plaque - another outstanding Memphis citizen. Another plaque honours Danny Thomas, founder of St. Jude's hospital, in whose name millions of dollars have been raised for sick children. The induction ceremony was very tasteful. The Peabody Hotel lobby was jammed full; Elvis fans and dignitaries were on hand, as were Priscilla and her parents. You couldn't have fit another person into the lobby if you tried. Very tastefully done and a local honour for Elvis.
