Elvis Mini Series Additional Soundtrack Recorded

April 19, 2005 | Other
Paul Leim, the replacement drummer for Ronnie Tut on the upcoming European "Elvis The Concert", informed us that the additional music for the CBS television mini series "Elvis" has been recorded. All performances in the show are Elvis original tracks. According to Paul "Reim Jonathan Rhys Myers did a wonderful (and extremely difficult) job of portraying the most important musical figure ever in Rock and Roll. Jim Sadwith, the Director of the movie went to great lengths to portray Elvis and everyone in the movie in as accurate rolls as possible. As we did in the mid eighties recording “Elvis and Me” Priscilla’s story, we tried to portray his music of the era as accurately as possible." The television mini series air May 8th and May 11th.

is the soundtrack up for a release?

It doesn't seem that there will be a soundtrack for this mini-series. Too bad, because it's a wasted opportunity. I would guess that a soundtrack would chart fairly high. I guess that BMG figures that there would be too much product out at the same time counting "All Shook Up" (due out May 31), and the "Elvis By The Presley" CD and DVD ( due out May 7). I'm wondering what songs will make the mini-series, and I'd bet that no matter what songs they chose it would've made an impressive soundtrack.
