Elvis Matters Award 2009

I want to give my opinion on this topic. I feel Elvis Matters picked the most undeserving person to be awarded this award. Lee Dawson is not what he portrays himself to be on his shows. He's likes to pick and choose what goes on the shows. He says the request show is a show for all the fans and all the fans have their say. Well that's not entirely true. If you disagree with Lee Dawson you don't get on the show- or he puts your opinion or ideas down. It's also been said that unless you give him money (donation as he calls it) each month your requests are pushed to the back of the shows. Now how fair and how honorable is this? In my opinion Elvis' trash truck driver was more deserving than Lee Dawson... This is my opinion and not that of ElvisNews.com. Keep up the great work ElvisNews.com

Hi Devil in Disguise, I won't go in to your arguments against Lee Dawson, but i want to explain the system of the ElvisMatters award. It is not ElvisMatters who decides who gets the award. In the beginning of the year, ElvisMatters is asking their subscribers and readers to send in suggestions for people who will deserve this award. The five names with the most suggestions will come on the nominee list. In the second round, everyone can vote for their favourite nominee. So, the system is completely democratic and nominees and winner is selected by the fans. ElvisMatters takes no position or decision in this part. It seems to be that Lee Dawson has enough fans to win the award. Keep on Rocking, David, ElvisMatters.

well said justpretend, i totally agree and i am glad to see the policy you made. In my opinion Lee Dawson deserves the award. He gives so much and gets very little. WELL DONE LEE!!

Disagreements are fine, but stay to the point and not to the person behind it (aim at the content, not at the person). Congratulations to Lee Dawson, thouroughly deserving of this award for his total dedication to Elvis and for all he does for Elvis fans. As for Devil in Disguise - are you jealous of Lee, because your childish claims sound that way - like Elvis Is King, surprised that ElvisNews allowed you to slander a good man's name.

These are not claims- they are my opinion of the man. I feel he's not deserving for the Elvis Matters award. Seems to me for him to even be allowed to take part in it is a conspiracy. Lee Dawson does not respect Elvis' memory that much. When Lee cuts down and makes fun of two people Elvis most loved Lisa Marie and Priscilla. No matter what anyone says to me being disrespectful to Elvis' own child. If Elvis would hear Lee Dawson cut down his daughter or the mother of his child. What do you think Elvis would have to say to Lee? Giving Lee Dawson this award will feed his ego. This comment is made about the Elvis Matters award and how I feel Lee Dawson IS NOT deserving of this award. But there again if they give people like Lee Dawson this award to me it can't say too much about Elvis Matters. Again this is my opinion and not that of ElvisNews.

This comment is to Elvis News. Personal attacks are NOT allowed on Elvis News, So WHY are you allowing personal attacks against Lee Dawson on this site to be published? If "Devil In Disguise" Disagrees with the Elvis Matters award being given to Elvis Express radio. Then they should just say that and NOT turn this into a personal vendetta again ONE MAN, clearly in violation of Elvis News own policy. PLEASE, Elvis News stick you your policy and remove the se slanderous comments, or edit them to make the point only.

Devil in Disguise is allowed to give an opinion of Lee Dawson, (which is in fact a personal attack, which is supposedly not allowed on ElvisNews??) Would you be so outspoken using your real identitiy? Then Lee could voice his opinion about you? Would be interesting to know if you have actually ever met Lee or are your un- Christian comments purely based on what you hear on his radio show?? or from personal experience?

Congratulations to a very deserving man. The Elvis Express show has lifted many fans for years now and long may it continue. Thousands of fans download the show every week and thankfully they have also voted for Lee Dawson to win this award. All Lee does is play some fantastic music (obviously!), gives us exclusives and first plays, keeps us up to date with all the news and puts his opinion into the mix - it is his show after all - so why all the negative comments? I just don't get it and can only put it down to jealousy. Once again, congratulations Lee.
