British police had to break into the home of an Elvis Presley fan who was deafening his neighbors with 24 hours of non-stop "Heartbreak Hotel."
Sleepless residents called police after hearing the King's classic track 400 times at a volume so loud, windows rattled, The London Sun reported Friday.
Once inside, police discovered Pete Ellis wasn't even home but had left his CD player on repeat.
The Lincolnshire man has been hit with noise complaints in the past, but this time a magistrate ordered his stereo system destroyed and imposed a $175 fine.
Ellis was reportedly not "All Shook Up."

While I believe it was wrong to disturb the peace, at least this guy picked some great music to do it to. Some places I've lived, people play rap music or hard rock at the top volume. Personally I would have played the CD "Essential Elvis: Volume 1" and played "Jailhouse Rock" (Movie Version, with vocal overdub) myself, but hey, "Heartbreak Hotel" is an excellent song too.

gribz - where are you. I am in NY too and snowed down. I live on Long Island. And that's what I did today - listened to the King.

That´s interesting. If I could do this in Brazil, I would play Polk Salad Annie and Kentucky Rain, to show the people here who is really the King Of The Music!!

Hey George, that's cool. I just saw a pretty good Elvis show on Selden L.I last Friday. The guy did a good job. He sang all B -side ELvis songs that most singers don't do.

Now this is a one of a kind story, luv it! Too bad about the stereo and having to pay a fine. They should have let him off with a warning saying "I'll Remember You". : )
