Elvis In Lullabies Top 10

Elvis Presley, Guns And Roses and Kate Perry are enough to send you to sleep - they've topped a poll of "alternative lullabies". The survey reveals modern parents prefer to sing their babies to sleep with rock songs and boyband ballads rather than traditional nursery songs. Top of the list is British band Take That's Patience, followed by Robbie Williams' hit Angels, and Katy Perry's smash I Kissed A Girl. Other surprising entries in the top ten include Wonderwall by Oasis, Welsh songstress Duffy's Warwick Avenue, and Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses. Parents taking part in the poll said it was easier to remember the words to modern songs, with many agreeing that traditional lullabies sound old fashioned. The Top Ten alternative lullabies are: Patience - Take That Angels - Robbie Williams I Kissed a Girl - Kate Perry You're Beautiful - James Blunt Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley Beautiful - Christine Aguilera Warwick Avenue - Duffy Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses Wonderwall - Oasis

What the hell kind of poll is this! Really verifies how & why most people feel about polls! I am a true Elvis fan & used to dance around the house with my children when they were babies but lullabies! Guns & Roses would do nothing but shatter their little ears. I started my kids out with classical then moved to ballads by Elvis (Love Me TEnder) & other singers. I can't see where most of these selections would be considered lullabies. Of course, I see tiny kids stapped in car seats while their parents have rap blaring so loud you can hear it through the windows. I guess if your hearing is shot, you really don't notice much!

well James Blunt's voice certainly doesn't bring me to sleep, and if it does only gives me
nightmares..

Another worthwhile poll. Would love to know who conducted this one. I kissed a girl by Kate Perry, a lullaby. Yeah right.

Being that I am unashamedly the most bias person ever I would argue to a non-Elvis fan that this song is amazing. Within 'Elvis circles' however i would agree with the previous statement. Although the song fits the 'usage' this article relates to perfectly. TCB

Love Me Tender one of the most overrated Elvis songs ever.
