Elvis’ Former Home Wins Award

April 24, 2007 | Other
Uptown Square in Memphis, once the Lauderdale Courts housing project, where Elvis lived in his formative years, is one of the winners of a NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Pillars of the Industry Award. The award was for the Best Repositioning/ Conversion of a Multifamily Asset – A title which does not roll off the tongue in a hurry.

A run down area in recent years, the area has now been transformed, with new apartments featuring built in wardrobes, full size washer dryers and free wireless internet access - a huge advance from the humble beginnings Elvis had there.
