Elvis Forever

March 07, 2012 | Music

Released in 1974 the double album 'ELVIS FOREVER' (volume 1) is probably the best-selling Elvis compilation album of all-time (at least in Europe) .
In Germany 1.000.000 copies were sold within a year of its release, in Finland it became the biggest selling 'greatest hits' album ever, in Belgium it sold more than 270.000 copies and in Holland it was one of the very few Elvis albums that went straight to number 1 on the charts ( in 1974 ). By the end of the 1970's the original FOREVER album had sold more copies than UK's '40 GREATEST', without even being released in the UK or US (more than 5 million copies).
After the huge success of FOREVER volume 1, RCA decided in the 1980's to release 4 more volumes in the FOREVER series. Although they sold well, they never became the huge success of the first volume.
'Elvis Forever Vol.1' was released on CD by RCA as a double cd album and as a single cd album (with 30 tracks instead of the original 32).
Volume 2 was also released, in 2 different versions, but both editions contained only 31 tracks and not 32 . The CD version of Elvis Forever Vol.2 with the original album cover (released in Holland ) is almost unfindable these days, and the CD version promoting the 'Elvis Eau De Toilette' (only released in Germany with a totally different cover) is also a rarity.
All the other volumes in the FOREVER series are unreleased on CD - Until now!
We are very proud to announce the complete collection of original ELVIS FOREVER albums on fabric silver pressed cds.
Housed in 3 panel digipacks with original album artwork, each FOREVER volume contains 2 discs with the 32 original album tracks plus a bonus disc with rare and hard to find recordings (some tracks are even unreleased on official CD releases). With a total of 50 rare bonus tracks, this collection of 5 double-albums has a total of 210 tracks! A massive and ultimate Elvis collection!!
When you buy Elvis Forever Vols 3&4 , you'll receive a free cardboard storage box, so when you have collected the complete series you can storage them all in one beautiful box! Out Now: Elvis Forever Volume 3 & Volume 4. The others volumes will be released in April / May 2012.

I have every LP's of this serie but I don't like these CD's bootlegs releases... Only for die-hard collectors.

And the money keeps on coming in - give it a rest already. Past its time!

I need to know the dimensions of the box. I may buy if it's the proper size for my cigars.

Interesting in those fans for new fans as intro compilations. I don't see the value of it all now-a-days. Steve V, ditto!

Who Needs Money?

This is obsolete and plainly exploitative. The only thing that prevents the whole enterprise being totally brainless is that it will make the rabble behind it some money out of Elvis Presley's talent and RCA Victor's investment.

Memories! ELVIS FOREVER 1 was my very first Elvis record, I got it from my parents as it was number one on my wishing-list for Christmas 1977! So I have very sentimental feelings for this record. I was 13 when I got it and played the two records all day and all night (...drove my family crazy....:-). I loved almost all of the music with one BIG (!) exception: "Wooden heart". Hated this song! I thought this was not the "real" Elvis. So whenever I urged someone (and I mean EVERYBODY who came to our house) to listen to ELVIS FOREVER, I skipped this song.... At this time, I knew next to nothing about Elvis or his music. But it touched my soul and Elvis is still a big part of my life!

A great serie and especially the volume 4. it contains a few suprises.Nothing new but a live version of don't cry daddy was the a welcome addition. Not Sony tumble his leagcy down with compilations. but these people behind releases like this. They are the same as all the camden release. Quick buick and to lazy to work. Look good to the covers. it looks like they still has the logo "2 LP SET". An they din't take the time they remove this.Or it is the difficuklt for them Look on the box and see the (especially ) white font. Very claer and the rest darker and more blur. And they call them selfs Elvis fans?. What a joke. Claasic albums deserves a decent release. Not this garbage

Well Japio....here you go again...complaining about things you haven't seen yet. I received the first 2 volume yesterday and they look great, much better than the ( bad ) promo pic you see here. Yes they DID replaced the 2 LP SET for 2 CD SET and there's nothing wrong with the colour of the covers or the box. Yes they offer nothing new, but its great for nostalgic reasons. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't like it, don't buy it, but stop talking about stuff you haven't seen with your own eyes.

Ruud it's my opinon. If you like it it's ok for me.But do you have seen the box already?.How is that possible. Volume 3 and 4 (and the included storage box )aren't released yet Can you tell me the difference between the picture here and the carboard storage box what you get when you buy vol.3 and 4. So you have seen this and where so i can also see this box . And if those people want to have only positve reactions. Then make a good and sharp press release. And i don't say i don't like it. I only asking why we buy the masters over and over agian.I skip this one. I have the originals and maybe- i said maybe -i will buy only volume 4.Just for fun and i liked this album. ofcourse only for the real Elvis fans.(i think).
