Elvis For Kids

July 08, 2002 | Other
It seems the 'A Little Less Conversation' single does bring Elvis to a new generation. On the BBC kids programme Blue Peter there was a great feature on Elvis in the wake of 'A Little Less Conversation' - a 10 minute flash through his life concentrating on how cool he was and crediting him for the creation of modern rock/pop music. Really sympathetically done with no adverse slant, only stating that in the mid 70's his friends were worried about his health and that he died of a heart attack in 77. After the item, the young presenter openly admitted that she liked Elvis before she went to film in Memphis and that she came back as a total fan. They then finished with one of the presenters doing the Jailhouse Rock number - and very well too, actually! Then they plugged the forthcoming No 1s CD. All accompanied with video clips from the early years, NBC special and Aloha, all credited courtesy of EP Enterprises.
