Elvis' first guitar bought by his mother for his 11th Birthday. According to the website selling this guitar, "Autograph To You" they have all the authenticity needed to prove that this is the guitar that Gladys bought for Elvis for his 11th birthday from the Tupelo Hardware Store. In 2002 a startingbid of 350.000 Dollar was not met during a Guernsey´s Auction.

What other original items that are to do with Elvis can be left to sell. We had lisa's baby teeth a while ago, now this supposedly geniune Elvis guitar. Anybody got any bright idea's what the next authentic item will be?
I know someone who has a piece of Haggis that Elvis left on his plate when he had a snack at Prestwick airport on his return home from Germany. Can anyone beat that then?

I know someone who found a peice of Elvis' toe nail whilst on the Platinum Tour three years ago. The nail had become dislodged from Elvis' "right" big toe in 1976 and then remained elusively just under the surface of the carpet to the right of the main staircase. No doubt it will fetch a few bob in a couple of years.

if it is it is history and should be bought by epe . this can not be sold unless by epe . it should be in the museum in graceland . if it is not taken up by them have a low opinion . buy it epe .

If this one IS Elvis' first guitar then I agree with you eagleone it should be sold to EPE and sent to Graceland... They're the ones to deal with business and memories... But I have serious doubts about the authenticity of it... How can you make sure this particular guitar was the one Elvis played? Even Elvis didn't know what the guitar had become... By the way loftmanuk and stu I know someone who owns the last fork Elvis used before he died. Now how does it sound uh? I'm sure he'd easily get all required authenticity too.

I am not saying this IS or IS NOT the authentic guitar that Gladys Presley bought for Elvis at Tupelo Hardware. But the man selling it (this time) called me last week and said he already has an offer of $1.4 million (USD) for this guitar and that he has authenticity. ALL I KNOW ... is when I questioned him about the "possibility" of this NOT being the original -- that perhaps between getting the original and moving to Memphis and later meeting Red West -- that "maybe" he had bought another, newer one. The seller got VERY defensive about my raising this possibility. Part of his "authenticity" is the letter from Forrest Bobo, who sold the original, but who has been dead for years and has not seen "this" guitar; so therefore, could not verify it is the original. Again, I'm NOT saying this IS or IS NOT ... but to get very defensive when I raise a possibility ... raised my eyebrows at the same time.
