I fully agree, a collection of 270 songs well thought out by people who know and care. Compilations of 3CD's have no chance to do full justice as even with 270 songs I can't find some of my all time film favourites like Steppin' Out of Line, Tender Feeling and Marguerita. Not a criticism just an observation of how difficult it is to keep everyone happy and how it demonstrates our man's diverse and strong song portfolio..

I would have a CD for Gospel songs, and another one for Country songs. But like 'Gorse' said, it is difficult to please everybody given the range of songs and styles Elvis did. But it is a nice collection. TCB

The first three discs basically take the "Hit Story " songs and sequence them chronologically, much better in my opinion than that release . Most of the other "top forty " singles are included on the other discs (Spinout is missing ). It might have been better if all the single were sequenced chronologically - I've always wished Sony would release a complete charting singles anthology in the order of release . Still , this is an excellent compilation which includes many of Elvis chart records. I wonder what the price of this would be considering it would be an import from Japan?

At last great to see FUN IN ACAPULCO in this release , a gem . Released as a single in early 1964 reached 15 or thereabouts in chart and during our summer in Australia .

After my last post ,I noticed that Spinout IS on this release. So it has most if not all of Elvis top 40 singles on it. Also like to mention that the Japanese releases are usually of the best quality.

This looks good. I'm sure they will use the new masters. The first 5 cd's are especially nice. cd1 has all the tracks from the original Golden Records 1 and 2 with the exception of That's When Your Heartaches Begin. Plus it has 4 more tracks. This is on my list for future purchase if the price is good and they use the new masters.
