Elvis Beats Brad

July 04, 2005 | People
A thousand Britons surveyed would rather spend the night with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley than Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Today's stars, such as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, do not rank highly when it comes to sex appeal, even with the younger generation, according to a poll commissioned by Muller that asked 1,000 Britons which American stars they would most like to spend the night with.

Fifties screen legend Marilyn Monroe came top of the list of women, followed by Calamity Jane actress Doris Day. Modern-day icons like Angelina Jolie, Madonna and Halle Berry came next.

Elvis came top of the men's list, followed by John Wayne, crooner Frank Sinatra, 50s rebel James Dean, and Humphrey Bogart. Robert De Niro was next - while actors like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt languished behind their classic counterparts.

The younger generation of Britons (aged 16-24) also ranked the likes of Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe as twice as desirable as Robert De Niro and Madonna in the poll.

Top 10 women (voted for by men)
1 Marilyn Monroe
2 Doris Day
3 Angelina Jolie
4 Madonna
5 Halle Berry
6 Jennifer Lopez
7 Renee Zellweger
8 Cameron Diaz
9 Natalie Portman
10 Gwyneth Paltrow

Top 10 men (voted for by women)
1 Elvis Presley
2 John Wayne
3 Frank Sinatra
4 James Dean
5 Humphrey Bogart
6 Robert De Niro
7 Clarke Gable
8 Tom Cruise
9 Kirk Douglas
10 Brad Pitt

Well that's a no brainer! I wouldn't spend anytime with Miss Jolie if you paid me. I can't believe she's even in the top 5! She's rude and crude and no lady! I'd much rather spend time with Marilyn or Doris!!! And Elvis top man always! But that top 5 looks great, I'd spend any amount of time with any of those gentlemen!

When the see that I am such a Huge fan they cant help but to start looking and when ever they flip open the Elvis books (those that are not vacum sealed lol) and see the 50's and 60's Elvis and hear his earlier music him performing on screen they are make comments like he is fine or he is Hot most of that was in High school I am glad to see the 30'ish age group start to recognize so much more of him I think due to TV and Elvis marketing its working withe younger people hit it harder though I been a collector and fan since I was 2 lol so you dont have to court me.
