'Elvis 30 #1 Hits' Hits No. 1

October 02, 2002 | Music
More than 25 years after his death, 20th century pop music icon Elvis Presley has set a new record by debuting at No. 1 in 17 territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Austria, France, Australia and Brazil. "Elvis 30 #1 Hits," the definitive Presley collection that was released by RCA on September 24th, thus becomes the first-ever album by Presley to open at the top of the charts in the U.S. The album’s release marks the first time RCA has produced a compilation of the definitive No. 1 singles of Elvis Presley’s legendary career. With the full participation of Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc., the record is the culmination of a year’s work that has focused renewed attention on Presley. Earlier this year, the remix of "A Little Less Conversation" reached No. 1 in the U.S. in its first week of release, and was No. 1 worldwide. Because of overwhelming demand, the tune was added as a special bonus track to "Elvis 30 #1 Hits."
