Elvis 2nd To None Promo

September 05, 2003 | Music
In the U.S. the commercial for "Elvis 2nd To None" was spotted on the Hallmark Channel. The theme is Elvis did everything first. On-screen text with matching voice-over:

Elvis was the first ...
First to have his own crib ...
First to have private jet ...
Elvis did everything first ...

Extra attention was paid to the Rubberneckin' mix and the bonus track "I'm A Roustabout". Elvis' first hit. For "That's All Right" they synchronized the '54 Sun audio to the '68 film of his lips singing it.

On Elvis World Japan you can watch this promo film.

MY BOY is a superb song. It was a Number One hit in most countries in Asia. It was a also a very Big Hit in England. They should have left out An American Trilogy & put in T.R.O.U.B.L.E. instead. Also put in I Just Can't Help Believing instead of You Don''t Have To Say You Love Me.But we all have our own personal favorites, don't we? Do you think there will ever be a Volume 3???

Europe and other area's are planning greater promotions, so we should see this '2nd to none album' go 10 million globally and 3 to 4 million domestically by the summer!!!

The song 'My Boy' should definitely be on the '2nd to none album'. Not only was it a top 15 song for Elvis in the mid 70's when the disco phase was in full swing, but it was a song that never received fair radio play, or singles promotion. Still, this song did well on the pop charts, during a time when only disco songs ranked high. It's a great song, and helps spread Elvis's 70's work more evenly, throughout the decade. Vote for 'My Boy'. Elvis is in top form Emotionally and vocally on this track. His interpretation and emotional intuitiveness are clear, real, and outstanding for the song. Elvis's Soul pours through the lyrics. Just give it a listen. You decide.
