Elvis - The Concert In The Far East (Updated)

March 26, 2004 | Other
It looks like the big screen show with The TCB Band, The Sweet Inspirations and The Stamps or The Imperials will tour the Far East later this year according to an update on the Elvis Unlimited website.

Updated 26/03 with additional "rumours":

Elvis The Concert goes far-east!. Elvis will touch down in Singapore for, as it looks like now, 2 concerts there. Rumours has it that offers also have been made from Russia and South-Africa but it looks like Elvis The Concert will not go there. However, a return to Europe in the beginning of 2005 might be possible!

Updated 26/03 with reaction Todd Morgan from EPE:

We've been wondering when word would leak - it always does with every show booking. There is not a tour in the works. There is, however, a special opportunity for a one-city gig in the Far East and a possible stop in one USA location on the way there. The moment producer Stig Edgren tells us he has a signed contract, we'll post info in News on Elvis.com, update our tour schedule page and issue an E-newsletter alert. We've learned over the years that life's easier if we wait and announce things only once they're confirmed.

I hope "Elvis-The Concert" will do another worldwide tour in 2004!! (I want it to come, to America!!) In the 50th anniversary year or "That's alright Mama" and "Rock-N-Roll". we need Elvis on tour, with his 70's bandmates and backup singers !!

Here is just a thought. Why not use Elvis the Concert to promote the 50th anniversary. Why not put that show on The Tonight show, or Letterman. I know Letterman had the tribute for the Beatles and showed the DVD. I think this would help attract more attention to the 50th anniversary. Unless you talk to "hardcore" Elvis fans you hear nobody, for the most part, talking about the anniversary this year. I think this would help.

I wish Elvis, The Concert would have come to Spain. But it seems that we don't have enough Elvis fans in Spain as to fill at least one concert in Madrid or Barcelona. I will say to my kids "no, I couldn't see Elvis live because I wasn't even born when he died and I couldn't see his bandmates live because they skipped Spain in their tours" It's sad, but that's the way it is.

So true. But, the rest of the world needs Elvis too. Now more than ever. Probably in either 2006 or 2007, you will see another U.S tour, and this time the technology might be full 3D.. So be patient, and maybe even better things are in store..

That is so true. It is really up to EPE, and BMG, to get this thing going in a big way... The 50th Anniv. should be as big or bigger than the 25th memorial ANNIV of Elvis Presley.. I remember 11 years ago how the Elvis 'stamp' propelled a real forward launch for Elvis that lasted 5 years, and was talked about on both sides of the Atlantic, by everyone, not just the Elvis fans. We need something like that now to start by the end of May, to assure a global celebration.

Elvis-The Concert should come to Mexico, in an occasion an Elvis´ imitator came to play to the Auditorio Nacional, and almost 8,000 people comes to saw him. In México have come different musicians of very diverse musical tendencies and they always fill the places. There are many Elvis´fans in this country, I hope some day they make plans to come to play here.

I'm 24 and have been to "Elvis The Concert" 14 times. In my opinion, this show is the ultimate way for someone my age to experience Elvis. If the far east is where it will only play, I will probably go there. But I hope It will play in the U.S. again.

yeah I'd love to see the show again but please revert back to the original "Elvis - The Concert" song line up. Last years show had too much of the "Bubble Gum" rock and roll stuff which Elvis never did justice to in the 70's
