Publisher Oldenburger BPlusU-Verlag will release a new book on Elvis' time in Germany May 2008. The title of the book is "Der King In Deutschland 1958-1960"

Elvis in Germany during that time period was a part of US Army "public relations" sort of like a peace offering to the young people of europe he was the biggest name in worldwide entertainment
