August 24, 2004 | Music
Two new CDs will be released at the end of August by Memory Records. The second title is "Elvis - The Cover Up" (MR 2040-2). This is the first Memory CD that contains an eight pages booklet with a lot of rare and good photographs of Elvis in 1977 illustrating a a long essay.

It contains a collection of very rare interviews from radio and TV broadcasts (with Ginger Alden, Dr. Nick, Dr. Ghanem, Rick Stanley among others) concerning Elvis Presley tragic death, health and drug problems was. It is completed with more than twenty minutes of remastered and mostly unreleased 1977 live tracks taken from quality audience recorded tapes.

Excerpt from 8 pages booklet:

In the summer of 1979, a production team from sensational investigative TV show 20/20 moved down to Memphis. In September, the Tennessee Medical Board charged Dr Nick with gross malpractice over the illegal prescription of painkillers and other drugs to Elvis, and 13 other patients. The hour-long 20/20 special, 'The Elvis Cover-Up', was broadcast in 1979, maintaining that Presley was killed by an overdose of prescription drugs.
The Medical Board Tribunal heard evidence of astounding volumes of prescriptions written by Dr Nick. Between 1975 and 1977, he had prescribed 19,000 doses of drugs. In the first eight months of 1977 alone, he had written 199 prescriptions totalling more than 10,000 doses of sedatives, amphetamines and narcotics: all in Elvis's name."

Czech Republic 's Memory Records keeps releasing these CDs. Are they legal? The only thing good about these cds is that the cover-sleeves is nice but the audience recordings inspite of being remastered etc are still crap and a pain to my ears.

i dont mind some of the interviews on there but come on i want more music and i wanna hear elvis' side. we never heard it from elvis' side really. but i have a great idea what he would say one would be the poem " men with broken hearts" and then he would tell us he did it his way. plus his jaycee award speech in 1971 and various other press conferences. who cares what dr. nick says or geraldo or anyone else who is just gonna bash elvis.
