Crash Takes Chunk Out Of Graceland's Wall

There's a hole in the "graffiti wall" outside Elvis' Graceland mansion. On Tuesday morning a Jeep hit a patch of ice on Elvis Presley Boulevard, ran into the graffiti wall and knocked a hole all the way through. Kevin Kern, a Graceland spokesman, told us it's too cold right now to use mortar to patch the hole. "In the meantime," says Kern, "these bike rack barricades will remain in place, and then we will also probably put plywood or some sort of barrier on the backside to make sure that the grounds here at Graceland remain safe for our visitors and for us at night."

Interesting that there isn't one word about this accident on the news section on the official Elvis site. But I sure hope that none of the bricks get on Ebay; since I want to see those bricks back where they belong - in the Graceland's "graffiti wall".

I hope they can patch it up with the bricks that have been displaced.

The stone wall around Graceland is periodically cleaned with a pressurized water system so that fresh graffiti can be left by visiting fans. So if you've left a message there in the past it may no longer be visible.

firstly I hope noone was hurt and secondly can you imagine how much those bricks would go for? But over the next coming years they'll probably will have to rebuild that whole wall anyway. On that note may I be the first to wish everyone here at 'elvis news' and all its members a merry christmas and a safe new year... T C B

I know my message was further down but can you imagine the rush for a "clean sheet". I hope though the original stones are able to be replaced complete with inscriptions before the souvenir hunters get ideas! However, Will write a new message next spring! Keep safe over there!

I expect to see lots of 'bricks' for sale on ebay - some might even be from this actual wall!
