I kind of like this cover. It looks straight out of the 70's, which is great! Certainly, the original run LP's had very poor covers, especially when so many other performers at the time went to great lengths with album artwork. For example, look at Elton John's cover for Captain Fantastic, and you'll see what I mean. I've got a question for anyone that knows the answer: On the inside cover of Aloha, is that really Elvis standing there amongst those Hawaiian beauties, or is it a cardboard stand in? I think I know the answer, but I'm not positive.

There are probably thousands of photographs locked away in archives and in private collections which haven't yet seen the light of day, the proof being in the constant release of new books. Personally, I think the cover should reflect the content of the CD and I think FTD have largely followed that. With regards to studio pictures of the 70's, I read somewhere that Elvis was so turned off from movie Elvis of the 60's that he did a 180. He grew his hair long with sideburns and wore high collars in rebellion (also, he didn't like the length of his neck) and I think studio photos fell in that category. Finally, I do get fed up with people constantly "climbing over" people with their opinions. It's as though they think they are better than everyone else. I think the bitching adds to making this forum more enjoyable. If everyone agreed, this would be one boring site.

JerryNodak - I thought the same thing while posting that. Its nice to know there are enough topics in the Elvis world where we can find one to agree upon! True about the posing. I may be wrong but I think the last official portraits were done in 1969. One was used on the Let's be Friends Camden LP. Cant recall any at all in the 70's.

I would like some professional graphics people to take a look at the Elvis universe. Throughout his entire career our man has been provided with covers that show so much lack of ambition what so ever that it's about time something seriously is being done. I think this cover, if it really is the right cover, proves that most of the cover art at BMG/FTD has no high priority. And to be honest: I liked the "Elvis Country"- cover, I liked the "From Elvis In Memphis"-cover..... and the FTD cd-cover to "Nashville Marathon" was excellent. So come on guys...... wake up, use your imagination, be creative, you have so many possibilities to create exciting cover art in Photoshop.

Steve V: I'm shocked. I find that you and I are in total agreement. I got so burnt out on the "Live" covers on the '70s albums. Of course, it was hard to have a current portrait cover when the star wouldn't pose.

One of the things sadly lacking from Elvis' LPs in the 70's were covers featuring current studio portraits. Every LP from the TV Special on had a 'live' on stage cover except for the Country LP which had a baby photo. Even 'He Touched Me' featured an on stage photo. I think its a nice change of pace to have a release with something other than another jumpsuit image on it. FTD is trying something different and they prob didnt have much to choose from.

Let me get this straight. Some website publishes a picture that "they" say is the cover for "Found My Thrill" and everyone starts climbing all over FTD. Shouldn't you at least wait
to find out if this REALLY IS the cover before you start bitching.

One of these days the FTD team may actually listen to the fans comments on artwork and do something about it. That is an aweful cover much the same as Dragonheart. How is it that "import" titles can have amazing packaging - and I'm not taking photos here, I totally understand that FTD have restrictions on photos due to licensing that the bootleggers don't. The layout on this release is appalling.

Wouldn't a 'live' shot of Elvis, possibly from the same show if available, be more appropriate? Nothing wrong with the pic above and I wouldn't mind having it on the inside sleeve.

What ? Is this the definitive cover ? I just can´t believe it ! They photo is o.k. but the art work !?! Come on, Ernst and all the folks at FTD, you can do it better !
