Greg Nolan is correct - I see all 3 original gospel albums in their original cd format in Tower, FYE, and other stores. Either there is a backload of these cds still around or it is still in the catalog. This package is strictly for us collectors. A Christmas FTD may be nice if they could ever find glorious 50's outtakes. An outtake of Silver Bells wont do it for me and I think we already heard the best of the other 1971 outtakes. With all the various Christmas complilations out there, I dont think there is much interest on FTDs part at this time for such a package.

People say that this one is "cut from the catalogue" and that's technically true. However, in the US, anyway, in stores up and down the east coast, such as Tower (while they last) and FYE, I've been seeing copies of the original CD version ('80s or early '90s?) forever. They must have a lot of stock left. This is a welcome release, as is the forthcoming FIT FOR A KING set. It remains a good time for Elvis fans!

Can't wait for this CD. Neither can I believe that Sony BMg removed it from the mainstream Elvis catalogue. Crimminal, short sighted decision.

Jth... I understand your point and it'd make sense that the FTD serie would use the U.S. original design (no white border in the U.S. to my knowledge). But don't forget these CDs are made in Europe by European people. I think this is the reason why we have the U.K. white borders. I don't say it's right (actually, I don't really care), but this is an explanation, I guess.

Then how about the US releases of this album? I thought the cover on all of the Classic Album releases in the FTD series would represent how the US release looked like (whether it be lp, ep or the other one)

In answer to evereyones question the uk version of this lp has a white border hope this helps everyone and there has never been an ep made of this record in the uk

CD-King... here also, things are not simple. I don't own all of the UK EPs, but I can tell you that one EP from "Elvis is back" with "Such a night/It feels so right/Like a baby/Make me know it" has these borders. Apparently, this is the only one I have, among my UK EPs, that has them. Maybe someone from UK could bring us some information.

"EJF" wrote that previously these tracks have not been presented in their correct speed; I wondered if he could tell us the source of this information and by how much he thinks they were "speeded up"??!!

Most of my Elvis Vinyl Record Albums were from RCA USA, Germany and Italy. All my 45rpm EPs like Kid Galahad, Follow That Dream and Tickle Me also do not have any white borders. Do the UK EPs have borders??

CD-King, The original vinyls, sometimes, HAD this white border! Actually, it depends of the country where they were released. For exemple, I own "Something for Everybody" from U.K. with a white border. Same for "Blue Hawaï", "Spinout", "Elvis is back", and some others. And guess what ? I have "His hand in mine" with this border too. I also have those records without the border, because there was none on the French versions, with the exception of... "His hand in mine" when it was re-released in a budget serie in the 70s. Things are not so simple... :-)

White border doesn't bother me. In fact, I kinda like it. Just as long as it's the original music. Really looking forward to this album.

When these 7"Format Cds first came out, they do not have the white border on the cover which is nicer. Now looks like they're making the white border permanant. Those original Vinyl LP Albums DO NOT have any white border, so WHY THE WHITE BORDER now???

His Hand In Mine has always been one of my favourites, Gospel as good as it gets. This one will be played quite often. Thanks Ernst and the rest of FTD, keep them coming!

Nothing else to add about this great cover and track listing. I just hope all tracks have been remastered from the original master tapes by Kevin Budd for the best sound possible and for their correct speed which was not the case on previous releases.

Honestly, this cover is not surprising. :-) But... ok, this is one of the best ever. He was on top, vocally speaking, and obviously physically also.
