Elvis Today was a great album from the 70s. Elvis in superb voice and some very strong songs like I Can Help, Fairy Tale, Shake A Hand etc T.R.O.U.B.L.E. is Elvis at his rockin best next to PROMISED LAND. Will definately buy this 7" Format with booklet etc Keep 'em coming Ernst & Company.

I'm wondering what the original mixes sound like...They must be less than the released versions, interesting though!

I'm really looking forward to this release. A favorite of mine. Necky: I'm thinking that original session mixes means un-dubbed/with Duke Bardwell's bass parts intact. Before Elvis had Felton add new bass parts because Elvis wasn't happy with Duke's playing. On the original album only Duke's bass part on T-r-o-u-b-l-e remained because RCA rush released the single and there wasnt time to replace his part.

Looking forward to this release! Being a child in the 70's and a big Elvis fan, this album was one of my first 10 Elvis albums I ever bought. And a definate favorite of mine!

asesorev May 24, Agree with a lot of comments coming from Lindes, Lex and Johnny. We like the material but do strongly urge BMG to bring out the Promisded Land, Country & Guitar Man session outtakes, together with the GirlsGG, Roust, KCreole, KCousins movie song outtakes, before we get that soandso material like RaisedonRock or Tickle Me. Come on fans: react to us, let us know what you think they ought to be doing and remember: elvisNEVERleftthebuilding

I find it hard to believe and disappointing that T.R.O.U.B.L.E. has only the one take! did some of the tapes disapear, get distroyed or was the control room not rolling tape during this recording ( one of his best)some enliten me. Thanks

You're right ep3577. The only sad thing about this release is missing takes of such a great rocker as TROUBLE. Master is take 4 so even if takes 2,3 are f.s. RCA should put them on this CD. Why not before original mix of the song ? They did it before on Elvis is back FTD with I gotta know (take 1 f.s. before the master) and Reconsider bay (counting before master take).
