Classic Tracks Set For Sun Records Compilation

Recordings from Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Roy Orbison will be among those featured on a 44-song, two-disc set chronicling the history of Sun Records. Due Aug. 6 from BMG Heritage, "Sun Records 50th Anniversary," will contain such legendary tracks as Presley's "Mystery Train," Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes," and Sonny Burgess' "Red Headed Woman."

"Anniversary" will come with a booklet that contains track-by-track commentary and a label history penned by Colin Escott. Additional artists featured on the album include James Cotton, Jack Earl, Ray Harris and Tommy Blake. Warren Smith's "Red Cadillac and a Black Mustache" and an alternate take of Little Milton's "Looking for My Baby" are also represented.
