Calling Elvis

February 10, 2004 | Music
Set for release by Rock Legends is a new CD which contains a comprehensive overview of all the Elvis Presley's telephone conversations that are currently known to exist, including several that have not been released previously.

The CD should contain the complete Hy Gardner interview, a very rare third call from January 8, 1960, as well as the ultra-rare interview with Hawaiian discjockey Tom Moffet from January 9, 1959.

The bonus-tracks include a never-before-released rare radio broadcast about Elvis' first concert in Canada on April 2nd, 1957 with reporter Bill Beaty. Another recent discovery is an August 9th, 1975 radio-broadcast from Liberty Bowl Stadium in Memphis. The recording of a July 4, 1976 "End of Tour Party" concludes the release, you can hear ‘Elvis’ (producer Felton Jarvis) being interviewed by comedian Jackie Kahane.

The CD comes packaged in a full-colour three panel digipack with 18 photos of Elvis from different stages in his career holding a telephone. The CD runs for 70 minutes.

This is a bad idea. This comes maybe from a man that needs money. What's next. Elvis intervieuwed by females. Elvis talks again. And maybe elvis talks not. Elvis... O sorry. If you want to buy, it's your own buisiness. But save your money for a better release.

I find this a great audio idea and collection of interviews from other sources. I'm actually looking forward to this escape...... er, release. I'm the original source for the Harold Johnson 'clip' so I'll be most interested to hear just what type of audio improvement has been or could have been made on this. Just a point to make : The release of this clip on this release is not officially approved!
