Budget / Re-issue Releases

April 04, 2008 | Music
BMG will re-issue the "ELV1S 30 #1 Hits" slider-pack on April 14, 2008.

The Primo label will release the 2CD budget compilation "Elvis Presley - World Shaker" on April 28, 2008 in the UK. One day later the CD "Playlist" will be released in the US by an yet unknown label.

On May 13, 2008 the Wagram label will release the budget CD simply entitled "Elvis Presley".

We also added the cover art for the "Orange Range" budget compilation which was released last December (for the budget completists :-)).

"How shall we call this 50's compilation Jerry?" Well Tom, I haven't really thought about it, did you? "No, it's not that important for low budget releases" Well Tom, naming it 'Elvis' or 'the King' would be too cliché, it's what everybody else does.. "Let me think Jerry, uhm. It's a cd, with a cover and a list of songs.." Tom, WAIT! Let's call the cd 'Playlist'!! "Great, now we only have to think of a name for our label..."

And BMG are wondering why sales of legitmate Elvis CDs are dropping? It's because of excrement like this flooding the market. Within a very short space of time The King's early recordings are going to be worthless in the marketplace because the next step is they'll be giving them away with Corn Flakes. The copyright law needs to be changed - and QUICK LIKE!

The case looks great but I hope when you rub it a jeni comes to give you 3 wishes. I love the Elvis 30 # 1 hits , but since they have issued this in DVD sound with no picture, also they have one with a different type case that says collectors edition. The new Elvis dvd of performances bears the back ground of the picture. This was a golden time to release all kind elvis to younger generations also unrealeased cd's for us big fans. This was a number 1 record 25years after his death. I think young fans who have no real loyalty to any artist unless they like the songs. I am afraid they are going to frustrate the new could be fans before they get ito it good. Because the teenagers are going to look and say why is every song the same and probably thinks all future Elvis releases are gonna be the same, unless they get lucky and heard his voice the first time at seven and 23yrs later still hooked, but several of my friends ask me to play a few songs for them and it took a lot of marketing over the years to make him fans much less between 7-12 it was real hard to LOL

These re,re,re,re, releases of Elvis' '50s material will keep happening until Europe fixes its copyright laws. Open wide and say ahhh. Here comes another '50s comp.

Maybe they should spice these up by throwing in a 2008 Old Shep Dance Club Remix in these collections. ...lol That might trigger off an Old Shep Tribute contest. Old Sheps running around everywhere.
