Brightest Star On Sunset Blvd. To Be Re-issued

November 14, 2008 | Music

The Gravelroad import label will re-issue the two volumes of "The Brightest Star On Sunset Blvd." as a double CD package. These CDs were originally released on the Fort Baxter label in 1998. Gravelroad will remaster the original unedited tapes and as a bonus previously unreleased material from 1970 will be added to the CDs.

Can't see this being popular. Even if there's additional footage, it's all been released before, and the material was good enough in the first place. Should stick to sound boards.

Well, Fordy, it's good news to new fans... In my case, I was just a kid when those albums were released and I didn't know about imports back then, not until Internet arrived.

Great, another re-issue! These ones are released by profit makers only, what is the easiest way to make a lot of cash? The answer: rip off loyal elvis fans another time. Why not?

But not all fans got the originals, and fans who have the original releases im sure will skip this,i just wish madison was behind it,id want it for sure!

Great news! If Gravelroad remaster the sound like they did with 'Vegas Rhythm' cd, add some unreleased stuff plus a big, fat booklet it will be a winner for sure. I've had 'The Brightest Star. vol.1' for years, and finally now I'll be able to listen to the complete reheasal. Woo hoo!

Have to agree with mature elvis fan75 this time. I'll try to get a copy cause I missed the original release. If the sound is OK it doesn't have to be on Madison, there are a few other good import-labels and Gravelroad is one of them ! Always El.

These rehearsals are among my favorite cd's.i really hope Ftd gets around to giving them a proper release but again it wont come with any real [ackage such as a cool booklet,so thats why my wish is for madison,if Ftd decide to start giving booklets and stop with the sound errors my view of Ftd will change big time!
