Bonus Material On U.S. 2nd To None (and WWW)

October 07, 2003 | Music
The U.S. edition of "Second To None" seems to contain a bonus section. When you put it in your PC you get access to an Elvis desksite with unique, rare and exclusive Elvis video clips. It appears that EPE and BMG have cooperated to create the "Elvis DeskSite", which will deliver a new Elvis clip directly to your computer once or twice a week.

Updated:

Today the bonus material became available on the world wide web through a special website (link below). Here are the details from the site:

What's a DeskSite?

A DeskSite™ is breakthrough software that lets you enjoy crisp FULL SCREEN video instantly (no waiting on downloads) right on your desktop, without requiring a broadband connection! It's like TV on your PC!

How does it work?

Elvis® videos are automatically downloaded to your computer in the background ONLY when you’re online but not using your Internet connection. This process is completely transparent and never slows down your computer or connection!

How often will I get Elvis® content?

Approximately twice a week depending on your connection speed (Dial-up, ADSL, Cable, etc.) and how often you connect to the Internet. Old videos are automatically deleted to save space on your computer.

How will I know when new videos arrive?
You’ll be notified by an audio alert and the word "NEW" will appear on the desktop icon.

If you have a Windows for other languages than English, you must make some adjustments after installing DeskSite. If you don't have the directory C:/Program Files you have to create that. Then you look for the directory "Desksite" in your "normal" directory for programs (i.e. "Program" as in Swedish Windows) and drag and drop the whole Desiksite directory into the "Program Files" directory. You can create the "Program Files" directory before installing, but for me it was no help. Desksite was still installed i the "wrong" directory, but after moving it everything works (so far any way). The last thing to do is to change the path for the shortcut on the desktop so it can find the program, or remove it and make a new shortcut.
