BBC Online Wants To Know About Your Elvis Birthday Events

BBC Online is reaching out to Elvis fans for images and info from any special commemorations they might be staging or participating in for Elvis's birthday this week. Hoping that their intentions are good, here's a link to the info on their site.

I agree Tony. I don't think these guys are fans, they are just taking the mick, out for a buck or two. There are SOME genuine fans who are very good impersonators but DON'T wear wigs etc., they have styled their hair the same way. I am a teacher and you would be surprised of the number of kids who have asked me for tapes etc., because of Little Less Conversation and Rubberneckin'! It is great to give them the tapes etc., because it brings a whole new legion of fans. On the last day of term all we did, in the various classes, were quizzes etc., with Elvis Christmas albums playing in the background.

Let's keep any images of overweight guys with fake hair and jumpsuits to ourselves though. I'm always suspicious of the media when they cover Elvis events. You can be sure that they'll seize on any opportunity to make Elvis fans look nuts if they get the chance. Let's show both Elvis and Elvis fans in a positive light.

No matter their intentions at the BBC Online it is a great opportunity to let them know our feelings. Our photos have already been sent along with news of our Elvis Birthday Celebrations here in Swords Ireland. Already publicised on our national and local radio same with the Press. Elvis is News!!! Elvis News:-)
