Barry Manilow Does Elvis
February 02, 2006 | People
Barry Manilow does an Elvis song on his new album of 1950s songs. Manilow does Elvis' "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" on the album. Manilow also did a version of Elvis' "If I Can Dream" in the 1990's.

Manilow pays his tribute respectfully. He did the same with Sinatra recently and was acclaimed by the criticism, public in general and fans. Probably, as a good singer and nice musician, will do it correctly. Hope we do not hit him TOO MUCH…:-)! Best of life. And ELVIS!

Not a big Barry Manilow fan..I think there was a couple song's he had out years ago that I liked, but that was about it. I just hope he does it justice?

I don't have anything against Barry Manilow. In fact, I really enjoy some of his songs. My question is: What is "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" doing on an album of '50s love songs? Elvis cut it in 1960. Was it a big hit for someone in the '50s?
