Sony spends a lot of money on the publicity around the Australian "By Request" CD. If we should be glad with the image of Elvis-fans....

Like Steve V stated elsewhere: good grief~! This is how even Sony contributes to the way Elvis is ridiculed! I wonder how those who are responsible would feel if we depict them like this on a massive scale. Maybe they sue us! Shame on those who spend our money this way!

Hey, I found this amusing. It is a light hearted news item, not an advertisement. The aussies have a good sense of humour. There are none of the embarrassing weirdos that some TV stations seem to drag out at every opportunity. Hope the album does well in the charts, I'll be buying a copy!!

She even had the occasion wrong. He would have turned 77 today? Yeah they really cared about doing a good job.

This was a very clever and unique way to attract attention to the Elvis By Request : The Australian Edition CD release. I can understand the negative reactions 100%, however if you consider the following it might help you accept that it was not so bad. ::: This was all about, PUBLICITY; The advertising dollar value in all of this event is immeasurable!!!! A huge success ::: to have a high rating TV program such as TV Channel Seven's 'Sunrise' program [a very high rating program] not only cover it, but do live crosses to the reporter and assembled fans on the bridge EVERY HALF HOUR where the album was mentioned, and promoted, with this then followed by more via the 'Morning Show' on the same channel. The major newspapers, The 'Sydney Morning Herald', 'The Daily Telegraph', [Sydney] 'The Herald Sun' [Melbourne], all covered the event, as did TV's 'Sky News' and others. And since, Since orders from major retails have all been increased, everyone is asking for this CD. While not an idea i would come up with, from a marketing point of view it was brilliant and importantly Elvis' reputation, nor that of his fans has NOT been damaged; it is not like EPE turning into an Elvis impersonator website.

Elvis Australia, it thrilled me to read your reaction. If the respons is that positive and there was such a positive outcome than I stand corrected. Possibly the Australians are better than many others to look through the objections we argued with.
